Proverbs 1:2To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To know wisdom and instruction; To discern the words of understanding; To know wisdom, and instruction:For knowing wisdom and instruction, For understanding sayings of intelligence,
Proverbs 1:3To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;To receive instruction in wise dealing, In righteousness and justice and equity; To understand the words of prudence: and to receive the instruction of doctrine, justice, and judgment, and equity:For receiving the instruction of wisdom, Righteousness, judgment, and uprightness,
Proverbs 1:4To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion: To give subtilty to little ones, to the young man knowledge and understanding.For giving to simple ones prudence, To a youth knowledge and discretion.
Proverbs 1:5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; And that the man of understanding may attain unto sound counsels: A wise man shall hear and shall be wiser: and he that understandeth, shall possess governments.(The wise doth hear and increaseth learning, And the intelligent doth obtain counsels.)

Proverbs 1:7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; [But] the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fools despise wisdom and instruction.Fear of Jehovah [is] a beginning of knowledge, Wisdom and instruction fools have despised!
Proverbs 1:8My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:My son, hear the instruction of thy father, And forsake not the law of thy mother: My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother :Hear, my son, the instruction of thy father, And leave not the law of thy mother,
Proverbs 1:9For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.For they shall be a chaplet of grace unto thy head, And chains about thy neck. That grace may be added to thy head, and a chain of gold to thy neck.For a graceful wreath [are] they to thy head, And chains to thy neck.

Proverbs 1:12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, And whole, as those that go down into the pit; Let us swallow him up alive like hell, and whole as one that goeth down into the pit.We swallow them as Sheol alive, And whole as those going down [to] the pit,

Proverbs 1:17Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.For in vain is the net spread In the sight of any bird: But a net is spread in vain before the eyes of them that have wings.Surely in vain is the net spread out before the eyes of any bird.
Proverbs 1:18And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.And these lay wait for their own blood; They lurk privily for their own lives. And they themselves lie in wait for their own blood, and practise deceits against their own souls.And they for their own blood lay wait, They watch secretly for their own lives.
Proverbs 1:19So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; It taketh away the life of the owners thereof. So the wage of every covetous man destroy the souls of the possessors.So [are] the paths of every gainer of dishonest gain, The life of its owners it taketh.
Proverbs 1:20Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:Wisdom crieth aloud in the street; She uttereth her voice in the broad places; Wisdom preacheth abroad, she uttereth her voice in the streets:Wisdom in an out-place crieth aloud, In broad places she giveth forth her voice,
Proverbs 1:21She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,She crieth in the chief place of concourse; At the entrance of the gates, In the city, she uttereth her words: At the head of multitudes she crieth out, in the entrance of the gates of the city she uttereth her words, saying:At the head of the multitudes she calleth, In the openings of the gates, In the city her sayings she saith:
Proverbs 1:22How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And scoffers delight them in scoffing, And fools hate knowledge? O children, how long will you love childishness, and fools covet those things which are hurtful to themselves, and the unwise hate knowledge?`Till when, ye simple, do ye love simplicity? And have scorners their scorning desired? And do fools hate knowledge?
Proverbs 1:23Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.Turn you at my reproof: Behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you; I will make known my words unto you. Turn ye at my reproof: behold I will utter my spirit to you, and will shew you my words.Turn back at my reproof, lo, I pour forth to you my spirit, I make known my words with you.

Proverbs 1:27When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. When your fear cometh as a storm, And your calamity cometh on as a whirlwind; When distress and anguish come upon you. When sudden calamity shall fall on you, and destruction, as a tempest, shall be at hand: when tribulation and distress shall come upon you:When your fear cometh as destruction, And your calamity as a hurricane doth come, When on you come adversity and distress.
Proverbs 1:28Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: Then will they call upon me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me: Then shall they call upon me, and I will not hear: they shall rise in the morning and shall not find me:Then they call me, and I do not answer, They seek me earnestly, and find me not.
Proverbs 1:29For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:For that they hated knowledge, And did not choose the fear of Jehovah: Because they have hated instruction and received not the fear of the Lord,Because that they have hated knowledge, And the fear of Jehovah have not chosen.

Proverbs 1:31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own devices. Proverbs 1:32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, And the careless ease of fools shall destroy them. The turning away of little ones shall kill them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.For the turning of the simple slayeth them, And the security of the foolish destroyeth them.
Proverbs 1:33But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell securely, And shall be quiet without fear of evil. But he that shall hear me, shall rest without terror, and shall enjoy abundance, without fear of evils.And whoso is hearkening to me dwelleth confidently, And [is] quiet from fear of evil!`
