Psalms 82:1God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. <A Psalm. Of Asaph.> God is in the meeting-place of God; he is judging among the gods.A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.God standeth in the congregation of God; He judgeth among the gods.
Psalms 82:2How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.How long will you go on judging falsely, having respect for the persons of evil-doers? (Selah.)O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.How long will ye judge unjustly, And respect the persons of the wicked? Selah
Psalms 82:3Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights.For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.Judge the poor and fatherless: Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
Psalms 82:4Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. Be the saviour of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evil-doers.They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.Rescue the poor and needy: Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psalms 82:5They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.They know not, neither do they understand; They walk to and fro in darkness: All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
Psalms 82:6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High.
Psalms 82:7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.
Psalms 82:8Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.Up! O God, come as judge of the earth; for all the nations are your heritage.Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.Arise, O God, judge the earth; For thou shalt inherit all the nations.
