Psalms 27:1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?<Of David.> The Lord is my light and my salvation; who is then a cause of fear to me? the Lord is the strength of my life; who is a danger to me?A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalms 27:2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. When evil-doers, even my haters, came on me to put an end to me, they were broken and put to shame.Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple. When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Psalms 27:3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.Even if an army came against me with its tents, my heart would have no fear: if war was made on me, my faith would not be moved.Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts.Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Psalms 27:4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. One prayer have I made to the Lord, and this is my heart's desire; that I may have a place in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, looking on his glory, and getting wisdom in his Temple.Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
Psalms 27:5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. For in the time of trouble he will keep me safe in his tent: in the secret place of his tent he will keep me from men's eyes; high on a rock he will put me.Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.For in the time of trouble he will hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle will he hide me; he will set me up upon a rock.
Psalms 27:6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.And now my head will be lifted up higher than my haters who are round me: because of this I will make offerings of joy in his tent; I will make a song, truly I will make a song of praise to the Lord.Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication. And now shall my head be lifted above my enemies around me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
Psalms 27:7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. O Lord, let the voice of my cry come to your ears: have mercy on me, and give me an answer. The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Psalms 27:8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. When you said, Make search for my face, my heart said to you, For your face will I make my search. The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said to thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Psalms 27:9Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. Let not your face be covered from me; do not put away your servant in wrath; you have been my help: do not give me up or take your support from me, O God of my salvation.Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Psalms 27:10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. When my father and my mother are turned away from me, then the Lord will be my support. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalms 27:11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.Make your way clear to me, O Lord, guiding me by the right way, because of my haters.Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies.
Psalms 27:12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.Do not give me into their hands, because false witnesses have come out against me, and men breathing destruction.Deliver me not over to the will of my enemies: for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
Psalms 27:13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.I had almost given up my hope of seeing the blessing of the Lord in the land of the living.I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalms 27:14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.Let your hope be in the Lord: take heart and be strong; yes, let your hope be in the Lord.Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he will strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
