Psalms 64:1Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me.To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out.To the chief Musician, a Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Psalms 64:2Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;A Hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem.Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
Psalms 64:3Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:Who make their tongues sharp like a sword, and whose arrows are pointed, even bitter words;O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee.Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
Psalms 64:4That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.So that in secret they may let loose their arrows at the upright, suddenly and unseen. The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and thou wilt pardon our transgressions. That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
Psalms 64:5They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? They make themselves strong in an evil purpose; they make holes for secret nets; they say, Who will see it,Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house; holy is thy temple,They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who will see them?
Psalms 64:6They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.Or make discovery of our secret purpose? The design is framed with care; and the inner thought of a man, and his heart, is deep.wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off. They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
Psalms 64:7But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. But God sends out an arrow against them; suddenly they are wounded.Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
Psalms 64:8So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. The evil of their tongues is the cause of their fall; all those who see them are shaking their heads at them.who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled,So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
Psalms 64:9And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. And in fear men make public the works of God; and giving thought to his acts they get wisdom.and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful. And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
Psalms 64:10The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. The upright will be glad in the Lord and have hope in him; and all the lovers of righteousness will give him glory.Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it; thou hast many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, thou hast prepared their food: for so is its preparation. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
