| Psalms 80:1 | Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. | <To the chief music-maker; put to Shoshannim-eduth. Of Asaph. A Psalm.> Give ear, O Keeper of Israel, guiding Joseph like a flock; you who have your seat on the winged ones, let your glory be seen. | Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself. | Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock, You who sit above the cherubim, shine forth. |
| Psalms 80:2 | Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us. | Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, let your strength be awake from sleep, and come as our salvation. | Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob. | Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might, Come to save us. |
| Psalms 80:3 | Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. | Take us back again, O God; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe. | Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp. | Turn us again, God. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved. |
| Psalms 80:4 | O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? | O Lord God of armies, how long will your wrath be burning against the rest of your people? | Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity. | Yahweh God of hosts, How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people? |
| Psalms 80:5 | Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. | You have given them the bread of weeping for food; for their drink you have given them sorrow in great measure. | For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob. | You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in large measure. |
| Psalms 80:6 | Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves. | You make us a cause of war among our neighbours; our haters are laughing at us among themselves. | He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not. | You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves. |
| Psalms 80:7 | Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. | Take us back again, O God of armies; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe. | He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets. | Turn us again, God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved. |
| Psalms 80:8 | Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. | You took a vine out of Egypt: driving out the nations, and planting it in their land. | Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction. | You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it. |
| Psalms 80:9 | Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. | You made ready a place for it, so that it might take deep root, and it sent out its branches over all the land. | Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me, | You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land. |
| Psalms 80:10 | The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars. | The mountains were covered with its shade, and the great trees with its branches. | there shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god. | The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God's cedars. |
| Psalms 80:11 | She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. | It sent out its arms to the Sea, and its branches to the River. | For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. | It sent out its branches to the sea, Its shoots to the River. |
| Psalms 80:12 | Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? | Why are its walls broken down by your hands, so that all who go by may take its fruit? | But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me. | Why have you broken down its walls, So that all those who pass by the way pluck it? |
| Psalms 80:13 | The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it. | It is uprooted by the pigs from the woods, the beasts of the field get their food from it. | So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions. | The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it. |
| Psalms 80:14 | Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; | Come back, O God of armies: from heaven let your eyes be turned to this vine, and give your mind to it, | If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways: | Turn again, we beg you, God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine, |
| Psalms 80:15 | And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. | Even to the tree which was planted by your right hand, and to the branch which you made strong for yourself. | I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them. | The stock which your right hand planted, The branch that you made strong for yourself. |
| Psalms 80:16 | It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. | It is burned with fire; it is cut down: they are made waste by the wrath of your face. | The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever. | It is burned with fire. It is cut down. They perish at your rebuke. |
| Psalms 80:17 | Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. | Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself. | And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock. | Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, On the son of man whom you made strong for yourself. |
| Psalms 80:18 | So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. | So will we not be turned back from you; keep us in life, and we will give praise to your name. | | So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name. |
| Psalms 80:19 | Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. | Take us back, O Lord God of armies; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe. | | Turn us again, Yahweh God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. Psalm 81 For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. By Asaph. |
