Job 35:1Elihu spake moreover, and said,And Elihu made answer and said,Moreover Elihu answered,Moreover Eliu spoke these words :
Job 35:2Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?Does it seem to you to be right, and righteousness before God, to say,"Do you think this to be your right, Or do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's,'Doth thy thought seem right to thee, that thou shouldst say : I am more just than God?
Job 35:3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? What profit is it to me, and how am I better off than if I had done wrong? That you ask, 'What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?'For thou saidst : That which is right doth not please thee : or what will it profit thee if I sin?
Job 35:4I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.I will make answer to you and to your friends:I will answer you, And your companions with you. Therefore I will answer thy words, and thy friends with thee.
Job 35:5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. Let your eyes be turned to the heavens, and lifted up to see the skies; they are higher than you.Look to the heavens, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you.Look up to heaven and see, and behold the sky, that it is higher than thee.
Job 35:6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? If you have done wrong, is he any the worse for it? and if your sins are great in number, what is it to him?If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?If thou sin, what shalt thou hurt him? and if thy iniquities be multiplied, what shalt thou do against him?
Job 35:7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?If you are upright, what do you give to him? or what does he take from your hand?If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand? And if thou do justly, what shalt thou give him, or what shall he receive of thy hand?
Job 35:8Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.Your evil-doing may have an effect on a man like yourself, or your righteousness on a son of man.Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are; And your righteousness may profit a son of man.Thy wickedness may hurt a man that is like thee : and thy justice may help the son of man.
Job 35:9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.Because the hand of the cruel is hard on them, men are making sounds of grief; they are crying out for help because of the arm of the strong."By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.By reason of the multitude of oppressions they shall cry out : and shall wail for the violence of the arm of tyrants.
Job 35:10But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; But no one has said, Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night; But none says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,And he hath not said : Where is God, who made me, who hath given songs in the night?
Job 35:11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?Who gives us more knowledge than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the heaven?Who teaches us more than the animals of the earth, And makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?'Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and instructeth us more than the fowls of the air.
Job 35:12There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. There they are crying out because of the pride of the evil-doers, but he gives them no answer. There they cry, but none gives answer, Because of the pride of evil men. There shall they cry, and he will not hear, because of the pride of evil men.
Job 35:13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.But God will not give ear to what is false, or the Ruler of all take note of it;Surely God will not hear an empty cry, Neither will the Almighty regard it.God therefore will not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into the causes of every one.
Job 35:14Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.How much less when you say that you do not see him; that the cause is before him, and you are waiting for him.How much less when you say you don't see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him!Yea when thou shalt say : He considereth not : be judged before him, and expect him.
Job 35:15But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:And now ... ;But now, because he has not visited in his anger, Neither does he greatly regard arrogance. For he doth not now bring on his fury, neither doth he revenge wickedness exceedingly.
Job 35:16Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge. And Job's mouth is open wide to give out what is of no profit, increasing words without knowledge. Therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, And he multiplies words without knowledge."Therefore Job openeth his mouth in vain, and multiplieth words without knowledge.
