| Job 5:1 | Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn? | Give now a cry for help; is there anyone who will give you an answer? and to which of the holy ones will you make your prayer? | "Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn? | Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints. |
| Job 5:2 | For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one. | For wrath is the cause of death to the foolish, and he who has no wisdom comes to his end through passion. | For resentment kills the foolish man, And jealousy kills the simple. | Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one. |
| Job 5:3 | I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation. | I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly the curse came on his house. | I have seen the foolish taking root, But suddenly I cursed his habitation. | I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately. |
| Job 5:4 | His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them. | Now his children have no safe place, and they are crushed before the judges, for no one takes up their cause. | His children are far from safety, They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them, | His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them. |
| Job 5:5 | Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance. | Their produce is taken by him who has no food, and their grain goes to the poor, and he who is in need of water gets it from their spring. | Whose harvest the hungry eats up, Takes it even out of the thorns; The snare gapes for their substance. | Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches. |
| Job 5:6 | Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground; | For evil does not come out of the dust, or trouble out of the earth; | For affliction doesn't come forth from the dust, Neither does trouble spring out of the ground; | Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground. |
| Job 5:7 | Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward. | But trouble is man's fate from birth, as the flames go up from the fire. | But man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward. | Man is born to labour and the bird to fly. |
| Job 5:8 | I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause: | But as for me, I would make my prayer to God, and I would put my cause before him: | "But as for me, I would seek God, To God would I commit my cause; | Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God: |
| Job 5:9 | Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number: | Who does great things outside our knowledge, wonders without number: | Who does great things that can't be fathomed, Marvelous things without number; | Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number: |
| Job 5:10 | Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields: | Who gives rain on the earth, and sends water on the fields: | Who gives rain on the earth, And sends waters on the fields; | Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters: |
| Job 5:11 | To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety. | Lifting up those who are low, and putting the sad in a safe place; | So that he sets up on high those who are low, Those who mourn are exalted to safety. | Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn. |
| Job 5:12 | He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. | Who makes the designs of the wise go wrong, so that they are unable to give effect to their purposes. | He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can't perform their enterprise. | Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun: |
| Job 5:13 | He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong. | He takes the wise in their secret designs, and the purposes of the twisted are cut off suddenly. | He takes the wise in their own craftiness; The counsel of the cunning is carried headlong. | Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked: |
| Job 5:14 | They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night. | In the daytime it becomes dark for them, and in the sunlight they go feeling about as if it was night. | They meet with darkness in the day-time, And grope at noonday as in the night. | They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night. |
| Job 5:15 | But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty. | But he keeps safe from their sword those who have no father, and the poor from the power of the strong. | But he saves from the sword of their mouth, Even the needy from the hand of the mighty. | But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent. |
| Job 5:16 | So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth. | So the poor man has hope, and the mouth of the evil-doer is stopped. | So the poor has hope, And injustice shuts her mouth. | And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth. |
| Job 5:17 | Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: | Truly, that man is happy who has training from the hand of God: so do not let your heart be shut to the teaching of the Ruler of all. | "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. | Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord: |
| Job 5:18 | For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. | For after his punishment he gives comfort, and after wounding, his hands make you well. | For he wounds, and binds up; He injures, and his hands make whole. | For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal. |
| Job 5:19 | He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. | He will keep you safe from six troubles, and in seven no evil will come near you. | He will deliver you in six troubles; Yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you. | In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee. |
| Job 5:20 | In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. | When there is need of food he will keep you from death, and in war from the power of the sword. | In famine he will redeem you from death; In war, from the power of the sword. | In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword. |
| Job 5:21 | Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. | He will keep you safe from the evil tongue; and you will have no fear of wasting when it comes. | You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, Neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes. | Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh. |
| Job 5:22 | At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. | You will make sport of destruction and need, and will have no fear of the beasts of the earth. | At destruction and dearth you shall laugh, Neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth. | In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth. |
| Job 5:23 | For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. | For you will be in agreement with the stones of the earth, and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you. | For you shall be in league with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you. | But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee. |
| Job 5:24 | And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin. | And you will be certain that your tent is at peace, and after looking over your property you will see that nothing is gone. | You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing. | And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin. |
| Job 5:25 | Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth. | You will be certain that your seed will be great, and your offspring like the plants of the earth. | You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth. | Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth. |
| Job 5:26 | Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. | You will come to your last resting-place in full strength, as the grain is taken up to the crushing-floor in its time. | You shall come to your grave in a full age, Like a shock of grain comes in its season. | Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season. |
| Job 5:27 | Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good. | See, we have made search with care, and it is so; it has come to our ears; see that you take note of it for yourself. | Look this, we have searched it, so it is; Hear it, and know it for your good." | Behold, this is even so, as we have searched oat: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind. |
