1st-Chronicles 14:1

Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

And Hiram, king of Tyre, sent men to David with cedar-trees, and stoneworkers and woodworkers for the building of his house.

1st-Chronicles 14:2

And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

And David saw that the Lord had made his position safe as king over Israel, lifting up his kingdom on high because of his people Israel.

David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Israel's sake.

And David knoweth that Jehovah hath established him for king over Israel, because of the lifting up on high of his kingdom, for the sake of His people Israel.

And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

And while he was living in Jerusalem, David took more wives and became the father of more sons and daughters.

Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

And David, desiring directions from God, said, Am I to go up against the Philistines? and will you give them into my hands? And the Lord said, Go up; for I will give them into your hands.

David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and will you deliver them into my hand? Yahweh said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.

and David asketh of God, saying, `Do I go up against the Philistines and hast Thou given them into my hand?` And Jehovah saith to him, `Go up, and I have given them into thy hand.`

1st-Chronicles 14:11

So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

So they went up to Baal-perazim, and David overcame them there, and David said, God has let the forces fighting against me be broken by my hand, as a wall is broken down by rushing water; so they gave that place the name of Baal-perazim.

So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

And they go up into Baal-Perazim, and David smiteth them there, and David saith, `God hath broken up mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking up of waters;` therefore they have called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.

And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

And the Philistines did not take their images with them in their flight; and at David's orders they were burned with fire.

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

And David went for directions to God; and God said to him, You are not to go up after them; but, turning away from them, come face to face with them opposite the spice-trees.

David inquired again of God; and God said to him, You shall not go up after them: turn away from them, and come on them over against the mulberry-trees.

and David asketh again of God, and God saith to him, `Do not go up after them, turn round from them, and thou hast come to them from over-against the mulberries;

1st-Chronicles 14:15

And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

And at the sound of footsteps in the tops of the trees, go out to the fight, for God has gone out before you to overcome the army of the Philistines.

It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then you shall go out to battle; for God is gone out before you to strike the host of the Philistines.

and it cometh to pass, when thou hearest the sound of the stepping at the heads of the mulberries, then thou goest out into battle, for God hath gone out before thee to smite the camp of the Philistines.`

1st-Chronicles 14:16

David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

And David did as the Lord had said; and they overcame the army of the Philistines, attacking them from Gibeon as far as Gezer.

And David doth as God commanded him, and they smite the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon even unto Gazer;

1st-Chronicles 14:17

And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.

And David's name was honoured in all lands; and the Lord put the fear of him on all nations.

and the name of David goeth out into all the lands, and Jehovah hath put his fear on all the nations.
