| Job 1:1 | There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. | There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. He was without sin and upright, fearing God and keeping himself far from evil. | There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil. | A man there hath been in the land of Uz Job his name and that man hath been perfect and upright both fearing God, and turning aside from evil. |
| Job 1:2 | And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. | And he had seven sons and three daughters. | There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. | And there are borne to him seven sons and three daughters, |
| Job 1:3 | His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. | And of cattle he had seven thousand sheep and goats, and three thousand camels, and a thousand oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and a very great number of servants. And the man was greater than any of the sons of the east. | His possessions also were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred she-donkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east. | and his substance is seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred pairs of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and a service very abundant; and that man is greater than any of the sons of the east. |
| Job 1:4 | And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. | His sons regularly went to one another's houses, and every one on his day gave a feast: and at these times they sent for their three sisters to take part in their feasts with them. | His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his birthday; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. | And his sons have gone and made a banquet the house of each [in] his day and have sent and called to their three sisters to eat and to drink with them; |
| Job 1:5 | And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. | And at the end of their days of feasting, Job sent and made them clean, getting up early in the morning and offering burned offerings for them all. For, Job said, It may be that my sons have done wrong and said evil of God in their hearts. And Job did this whenever the feasts came round. | It was so, when the days of their feasting had run their course, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts." Thus did Job continually. | and it cometh to pass, when they have gone round the days of the banquet, that Job doth send and sanctify them, and hath risen early in the morning, and caused to ascend burnt-offerings the number of them all for Job said, `Perhaps my sons have sinned, yet blessed God in their heart.` Thus doth Job all the days. |
| Job 1:6 | Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. | And there was a day when the sons of the gods came together before the Lord, and the Satan came with them. | Now it happened on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Yahweh, that Satan also came among them. | And the day is, that sons of God come in to station themselves by Jehovah, and there doth come also the Adversary in their midst. |
| Job 1:7 | And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. | And the Lord said to the Satan, Where do you come from? And the Satan said in answer, From wandering this way and that on the earth, and walking about on it. | Yahweh said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it." | And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, `Whence comest thou?` And the Adversary answereth Jehovah and saith, `From going to and fro in the land, and from walking up and down on it.` |
| Job 1:8 | And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? | And the Lord said to the Satan, Have you taken note of my servant Job, for there is no one like him on the earth, a man without sin and upright, fearing God and keeping himself far from evil? | Yahweh said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant, Job? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil." | And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, `Hast thou set thy heart against My servant Job because there is none like him in the land, a man perfect and upright, fearing God, and turning aside from evil?` |
| Job 1:9 | Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? | And the Satan said in answer to the Lord, Is it for nothing that Job is a god-fearing man? | Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? | And the Adversary answereth Jehovah and saith, `For nought is Job fearing God? |
| Job 1:10 | Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. | Have you yourself not put a wall round him and his house and all he has on every side, blessing the work of his hands, and increasing his cattle in the land? | Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. | Hast not Thou made a hedge for him, and for his house, and for all that he hath round about? |
| Job 1:11 | But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. | But now, put out your hand against all he has, and he will be cursing you to your face. | But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face." | The work of his hands Thou hast blessed, and his substance hath spread in the land, and yet, put forth, I pray Thee, Thy hand, and strike against anything that he hath if not: to Thy face he doth bless Thee!` |
| Job 1:12 | And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. | And the Lord said to the Satan, See, I give all he has into your hands, only do not put a finger on the man himself. And the Satan went out from before the Lord. | Yahweh said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don't put forth your hand." So Satan went forth from the presence of Yahweh. | And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, `Lo, all that he hath [is] in thy hand, only unto him put not forth thy hand.` And the Adversary goeth out from the presence of Jehovah. |
| Job 1:13 | And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: | And there was a day when his sons and daughters were feasting in the house of their oldest brother, | It fell on a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house, | And the day is, that his sons and his daughters are eating, and drinking wine, in the house of their brother, the first-born. |

Yes, they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you." | and Sheba doth fall, and take them, and the young men they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, and I am escaped only I alone to declare [it] to thee.` |

| Job 1:17 | While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. | And this one was still talking when another came, and said, The Chaldaeans made themselves into three bands, and came down on the camels and took them away, putting the young men to the sword, and I was the only one who got away safe to give you the news. | While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, "The Chaldeans made three bands, and swept down on the camels, and have taken them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you." | While this [one] is speaking another also hath come and saith, `Chaldeans made three heads, and rush on the camels, and take them, and the young men they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, and I am escaped only I alone to declare [it] to thee.` |
