Her mouth is smoother than oil,For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And smoother than oil [is] her mouth,
Proverbs 5:4But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. But her end is bitter as wormwood, and sharp as a two-edged sword; But in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, And as sharp as a two-edged sword. And her latter end [is] bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a sword [with] mouths.
Proverbs 5:5Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. Her feet go down to death, and her steps to the underworld; Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to Sheol. Her feet are going down to death, Sheol do her steps take hold of.
Proverbs 5:6Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. She never keeps her mind on the road of life; her ways are uncertain, she has no knowledge. She gives no thought to the way of life. Her ways are crooked, and she doesn't know it.The path of life lest thou ponder, Moved have her paths thou knowest not.
Proverbs 5:7Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.Give ear to me then, my sons, and do not put away my words from you.Now therefore, my sons, listen to me. Don't depart from the words of my mouth. And now, ye sons, hearken to me, And turn not from sayings of my mouth.
Proverbs 5:8Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:Go far away from her, do not come near the door of her house;Remove your way far from her. Don't come near the door of her house,Keep far from off her thy way, And come not near unto the opening of her house,
Proverbs 5:9Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:For fear that you may give your honour to others, and your wealth to strange men:Lest you give your honor to others, And your years to the cruel one;Lest thou give to others thy honour, And thy years to the fierce,
Proverbs 5:10Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; And strange men may be full of your wealth, and the fruit of your work go to the house of others;Lest strangers feast on your wealth, And your labors enrich another man's house.Lest strangers be filled [with] thy power, And thy labours in the house of a stranger,
Proverbs 5:11And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,And you will be full of grief at the end of your life, when your flesh and your body are wasted; You will groan at your latter end, When your flesh and your body are consumed,And thou hast howled in thy latter end, In the consumption of thy flesh and thy food,
Proverbs 5:12And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And you will say, How was teaching hated by me, and my heart put no value on training; And say, "How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised reproof; And hast said, `How have I hated instruction, And reproof hath my heart despised,
Proverbs 5:13And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!I did not give attention to the voice of my teachers, my ear was not turned to those who were guiding me!Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor turned my ear to those who instructed me!And I have not hearkened to the voice of my directors, And to my teachers have not inclined mine ear.
Proverbs 5:14I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.I was in almost all evil in the company of the people.I have come to the brink of utter ruin, In the midst of the gathered assembly."As a little thing I have been all evil, In the midst of an assembly and a company.
Proverbs 5:15Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.Let water from your store and not that of others be your drink, and running water from your fountain.Drink water out of your own cistern, Running water out of your own well.Drink waters out of thine own cistern, Even flowing ones out of thine own well.
Proverbs 5:16Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.Let not your springs be flowing in the streets, or your streams of water in the open places.Should your springs overflow in the streets, Streams of water in the public squares?Let thy fountains be scattered abroad, In broad places rivulets of waters.
Proverbs 5:17Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.Let them be for yourself only, not for other men with you.Let them be for yourself alone, Not for strangers with you.Let them be to thee for thyself, And not to strangers with thee.
Proverbs 5:18Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let blessing be on your fountain; have joy in the wife of your early years.Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.Let thy fountain be blessed, And rejoice because of the wife of thy youth,
Proverbs 5:19Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.As a loving hind and a gentle doe, let her breasts ever give you rapture; let your passion at all times be moved by her love.A loving hind and a pleasant doe Let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love.A hind of loves, and a roe of grace! Let her loves satisfy thee at all times, In her love magnify thyself continually.
Proverbs 5:20And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? Why let yourself, my son, go out of the way with a strange woman, and take another woman in your arms? For why should you, my son, be captivated with an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another? And why dost thou magnify thyself, My son, with a stranger? And embrace the bosom of a strange woman?
Proverbs 5:21For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. For a man's ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he puts all his goings in the scales. For the ways of man are before the eyes of Yahweh. He examines all his paths. For over-against the eyes of Jehovah are the ways of each, And all his paths He is pondering.
Proverbs 5:22His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. The evil-doer will be taken in the net of his crimes, and prisoned in the cords of his sin.The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him. The cords of his sin hold him firmly. His own iniquities do capture the wicked, And with the ropes of his sin he is holden.
