| Psalms 64:1 | Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. | <To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me. | To the Overseer. A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice, in my meditation, From the fear of an enemy Thou keepest my life, | To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out. |
| Psalms 64:2 | Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: | Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil; | Hidest me from the secret counsel of evil doers, From the tumult of workers of iniquity. | A Hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem. |
| Psalms 64:3 | Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: | Who make their tongues sharp like a sword, and whose arrows are pointed, even bitter words; | Who sharpened as a sword their tongue, They directed their arrow a bitter word. | O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee. |
| Psalms 64:4 | That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. | So that in secret they may let loose their arrows at the upright, suddenly and unseen. | To shoot in secret places the perfect, Suddenly they shoot him, and fear not. | The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and thou wilt pardon our transgressions. |
| Psalms 64:5 | They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? | They make themselves strong in an evil purpose; they make holes for secret nets; they say, Who will see it, | They strengthen for themselves an evil thing, They recount of the hiding of snares, They have said, `Who doth look at it?` | Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house; holy is thy temple, |
| Psalms 64:6 | They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. | Or make discovery of our secret purpose? The design is framed with care; and the inner thought of a man, and his heart, is deep. | They search out perverse things, `We perfected a searching search,` And the inward part of man, and the heart [are] deep. | wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off. |
| Psalms 64:7 | But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. | But God sends out an arrow against them; suddenly they are wounded. | And God doth shoot them [with] an arrow, Sudden have been their wounds, | Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power: |
| Psalms 64:8 | So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. | The evil of their tongues is the cause of their fall; all those who see them are shaking their heads at them. | And they cause him to stumble, Against them [is] their own tongue, Every looker on them fleeth away. | who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled, |
| Psalms 64:9 | And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. | And in fear men make public the works of God; and giving thought to his acts they get wisdom. | And all men fear, and declare the work of God, And His deed they have considered wisely. | and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful. |
| Psalms 64:10 | The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. | The upright will be glad in the Lord and have hope in him; and all the lovers of righteousness will give him glory. | The righteous doth rejoice in Jehovah, And hath trusted in Him, And boast themselves do all the upright of heart! | Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it; thou hast many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, thou hast prepared their food: for so is its preparation. |
