Psalms 33:1Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.Be glad in the Lord, O doers of righteousness; for praise is beautiful for the upright. For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way. [1 Kings 21.]
Psalms 33:2Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.Give praise to the Lord on the corded instrument; make melody to him with instruments of music.I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.
Psalms 33:3Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.Make a new song to him; playing expertly with a loud noise. In the Lord shall my soul be praised: let the meek hear and rejoice.
Psalms 33:4For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness. For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are certain.O magnify the Lord with me; and let us extol his name together.
Psalms 33:5He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah. His delight is in righteousness and wisdom; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.I sought the Lord, and he heard me; and he delivered me from all my troubles.
Psalms 33:6By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the army of heaven by the breath of his mouth.Come ye to him and be enlightened: and your faces shall not be confounded.
Psalms 33:7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; he layeth up the deeps in storehouses. He makes the waters of the sea come together in a mass; he keeps the deep seas in store-houses.This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him: and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalms 33:8Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.Let the earth be full of the fear of the Lord; let all the people of the world be in holy fear of him.The angel of the Lord shall encamp round about them that fear him: and shall deliver them.
Psalms 33:9For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. For *he* spoke, and it was [done]; *he* commanded, and it stood fast. For he gave the word, and it was done; by his order it was fixed for ever.O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.
Psalms 33:10The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect. The Lord undoes the designs of the nations; he makes the thoughts of the peoples without effect.Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Psalms 33:11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation. The Lord's purpose is eternal, the designs of his heart go on through all the generations of man.The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.
Psalms 33:12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he has taken for his heritage.Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Psalms 33:13The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:The Lord is looking down from heaven; he sees all the sons of men;Who is the man that desireth life: who loveth to see good days?
Psalms 33:14From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth; From his house he keeps watch on all who are living on the earth;Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalms 33:15He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works. He makes all their hearts; their works are clear to him.Turn away from evil and do good: seek after peace and pursue it.
Psalms 33:16There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.A king's salvation is not in the power of his army; a strong man does not get free by his great strength. The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.
Psalms 33:17An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.A horse is a false hope; his great power will not make any man free from danger. But the countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil things: to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
Psalms 33:18Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,See, the eye of the Lord is on those in whose hearts is the fear of him, on those whose hope is in his mercy; The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.
Psalms 33:19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. To keep their souls from death; and to keep them living in time of need. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit.
Psalms 33:20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield. Our souls are waiting for the Lord; he is our help and our salvation. Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.
Psalms 33:21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name. For in him our hearts have joy; in his holy name is our hope. The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
Psalms 33:22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.Let your mercy be on us, O Lord, as we are waiting for you.The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.
