Psalms 41:1Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Blessed is he that understandeth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> Happy is the man who gives thought to the poor; the Lord will be his saviour in the time of trouble.
Psalms 41:2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive; he shall be made happy in the land; and thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will keep him safe, and give him life; the Lord will let him be a blessing on the earth, and will not give him into the hand of his haters.
Psalms 41:3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.Jehovah will sustain him upon the bed of languishing: thou turnest all his bed in his sickness. The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength.
Psalms 41:4I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.As for me, I said, Jehovah, be gracious unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.I said, Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.
Psalms 41:5Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?Mine enemies wish me evil: When will he die, and his name perish? My haters say evil against me, When will he be dead, and his name come to an end?
Psalms 41:6And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.And if one come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth wickedness to itself: he goeth abroad, he telleth [it].If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place.
Psalms 41:7All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. All that hate me whisper together against me; against me do they devise my hurt. All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.
Psalms 41:8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.A thing of Belial cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he is laid down, he will rise up no more. They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.
Psalms 41:9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I confided, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.
Psalms 41:10But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. But thou, Jehovah, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, lifting me up, so that I may give them their punishment.
Psalms 41:11By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. By this I know that thou delightest in me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.By this I see that you have pleasure in me, because my hater does not overcome me.
Psalms 41:12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. But as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. And as for me, you are my support in my righteousness, giving me a place before your face for ever.
Psalms 41:13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity! Amen, and Amen.May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.
