Job 36:1Elihu also proceeded, and said,And Elihu proceeded and said,Eliu also proceeded, and said :And Elihu went on to say,
Job 36:2Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee : for I have yet somewhat to speak in God's behalf.Give me a little more time, and I will make it clear to you; for I have still something to say for God.
Job 36:3I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.I will repeat my knowledge from the beginning, and I will prove my Maker just.I will get my knowledge from far, and I will give righteousness to my Maker.
Job 36:4For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee. For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee. For indeed my words are without a lie, and perfect knowledge shall be proved to thee. For truly my words are not false; one who has all knowledge is talking with you.
Job 36:5Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.Lo, ùGod is mighty, but despiseth not [any]; mighty in strength of understanding:God doth not cast away the mighty, whereas he himself also is mighty.Truly, God gives up the hard-hearted, and will not give life to the sinner.
Job 36:6He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.But he saveth not the wicked, and he giveth judgment to the poor.His eyes are ever on the upright, and he gives to the crushed their right;
Job 36:7He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted. He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted. He will not take away his eyes from the just, and he placeth kings on the throne for ever, and they are exalted.Lifting them up to the seat of kings, and making them safe for ever.
Job 36:8And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction; And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,And if they shall be in chains, and be bound with the cords of poverty :And if they have been prisoned in chains, and taken in cords of trouble,
Job 36:9Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded. Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased. He shall shew them their works, and their wicked deeds, because they have been violent. Then he makes clear to them what they have done, even their evil works in which they have taken pride.
Job 36:10He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity. And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity. He also shall open their ear, to correct them : and shall speak, that they may return from iniquity.Their ear is open to his teaching, and he gives them orders so that their hearts may be turned from evil.
Job 36:11If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. If they hearken and serve [him], they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. If they shall hear and observe, they shall accomplish their days in good, and their years in glory. If they give ear to his voice, and do his word, then he gives them long life, and years full of pleasure.
Job 36:12But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge. But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge. But if they hear not, they shall pass by the sword, and shall be consumed in folly. But if not, they come to their end, and give up their breath without knowledge.
Job 36:13But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them. But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:Dissemblers and crafty men prove the wrath of God, neither shall they cry when they are bound. Those who have no fear of God keep wrath stored up in their hearts; they give no cry for help when they are made prisoners.
Job 36:14They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.Their soul shall die in a storm, and their life among the effeminate. They come to their end while they are still young, their life is short like that of those who are used for sex purposes in the worship of their gods.
Job 36:15He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression. But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in [their] oppression. He shall deliver the poor out of his distress, and shall open his ear in affliction. He makes the wrong done to the poor the way of their salvation, opening their ears by their trouble.
Job 36:16Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table [would be] full of fatness. Therefore he shall set thee at large out of the narrow mouth, and which hath no foundation under it : and the rest of thy table shall be full of fatness....
Job 36:17But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee. But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].Thy cause hath been judged as that of the wicked, cause and judgment thou shalt recover....
Job 36:18Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.Because there is wrath, [beware] lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee. Therefore let not anger overcome thee to oppress any man : neither let multitude of gifts turn thee aside....
Job 36:19Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength. Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!Lay down thy greatness without tribulation, and all the mighty of strength....
Job 36:20Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.Prolong not the night that people may come up for them....
Job 36:21Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.Beware thou turn not aside to iniquity : for this thou hast begun to follow after misery.Take care not to be turned to sin, for you have taken evil for your part in place of sorrow.
Job 36:22Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?Lo, ùGod is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?Behold, God is high in his strength, and none is like him among the lawgivers.Truly God is lifted up in strength; who is a ruler like him?
Job 36:23Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?Who can search out his ways? or who can say to him : Thou has wrought iniquity?Who ever gave orders to him, or said to him, You have done wrong?
Job 36:24Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.Remember that thou knowest not his work, concerning which men have sung.See that you give praise to his work, about which men make songs.
Job 36:25Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.All men look at it; man beholdeth [it] afar off.All men see him, every one beholdeth afar off.All people are looking on it; man sees it from far.
Job 36:26Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.Lo, ùGod is great, and we comprehend [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge : the number of his years is inestimable.Truly, God is great, greater than all our knowledge; the number of his years may not be searched out.
Job 36:27For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,He lifteth up the drops of rain, and poureth out showers like floods :For he takes up the drops from the sea; he sends them through his mist as rain,
Job 36:28Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.Which the skies pour down [and] drop upon man abundantly.Which flow from the clouds that cover all above.Flowing down from the sky, and dropping on the peoples.
Job 36:29Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle? But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the crashing of his pavilion? If he will spread out clouds as his tent,And who has knowledge of how the clouds are stretched out, or of the thunders of his tent?
Job 36:30Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.And lighten with his light from above, he shall cover also the ends of the sea.See, he is stretching out his mist, covering the tops of the mountains with it.
Job 36:31For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance. For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance. For by these he judgeth people, and giveth food to many mortals. For by these he gives food to the peoples, and bread in full measure.
Job 36:32With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. [His] hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike. In his hands he hideth the light, and commandeth it to come again. He takes the light in his hands, sending it against the mark.
Job 36:33The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour. His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming. He sheweth his friend concerning it, that it is his possession, and that he may come up to it.The thunder makes clear his passion, and the storm gives news of his wrath.
