Psalms 46:1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.{To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. On Alamoth. A song.} God is our refuge and strength, a help in distresses, very readily found.Unto the end, for the sons of Core.<To the chief music-maker. Of the sons of Korah; put to Alamoth. A Song.> God is our harbour and our strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalms 46:2Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;Therefore will we not fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the heart of the seas;O clap your hands, all ye nations: shout unto God with the voice of Joy,For this cause we will have no fear, even though the earth is changed, and though the mountains are moved in the heart of the sea;
Psalms 46:3Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.Though the waters thereof roar [and] foam, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.For the Lord is high, terrible: a great king over all the earth.Though its waters are sounding and troubled, and though the mountains are shaking with their violent motion. (Selah.)
Psalms 46:4There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.There is a river the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the sanctuary of the habitations of the Most High.He hath subdued the people under us; and the nations under our feet.There is a river whose streams make glad the resting-place of God, the holy place of the tents of the Most High.
Psalms 46:5God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her at the dawn of the morning.He hath chosen for us his inheritance the beauty of Jacob which he hath loved.God has taken his place in her; she will not be moved: he will come to her help at the dawn of morning.
Psalms 46:6The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; he uttered his voice, the earth melted.God is ascended with jubilee, and the Lord with the sound of trumpet.The nations were angry, the kingdoms were moved; at the sound of his voice the earth became like wax.
Psalms 46:7The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.Jehovah of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our high fortress. Selah.Sing praises to our God, sing ye: sing praises to our king, sing ye.The Lord of armies is with us; the God of Jacob is our high tower. (Selah.)
Psalms 46:8Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.Come, behold the works of Jehovah, what desolations he hath made in the earth:For God is the king of all the earth: sing ye wisely.Come, see the works of the Lord, the destruction which he has made in the earth.
Psalms 46:9He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.He hath made wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariots in the fire.God shall reign over the nations: God sitteth on his holy throne.He puts an end to wars over all the earth; by him the bow is broken, and the spear cut in two, and the carriage burned in the fire.
Psalms 46:10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.The princes of the people are gathered together, with the God of Abraham: for the strong gods of the earth are exceedingly exalted.Be at peace in the knowledge that I am God: I will be lifted up among the nations, I will be honoured through all the earth.
