Psalms 89:1I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. {An instruction. Of Ethan the Ezrahite.} I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.<Maschil. Of Ethan the Ezrahite.> My song will be of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make his faith clear to all generations.
Psalms 89:2For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.Before the mountains were made, or the earth and the world was formed; from eternity and to eternity thou art God.For you have said, Mercy will be made strong for ever; my faith will be unchanging in the heavens.
Psalms 89:3I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,I have made a covenant with mine elect, I have sworn unto David my servant:Turn not man away to be brought low: and thou hast said: Be converted, O ye sons of men.I have made an agreement with the man of my selection, I have made an oath to David my servant;
Psalms 89:4Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne from generation to generation. Selah.For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. And as a watch in the night,I will make your seed go on for ever, your kingdom will be strong through all generations. (Selah.)
Psalms 89:5And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.And the heavens shall celebrate thy wonders, O Jehovah, and thy faithfulness in the congregation of the saints.things that are counted nothing, shall their years be.In heaven let them give praise for your wonders, O Lord; and your unchanging faith among the saints.
Psalms 89:6For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?For who in the heaven can be compared to Jehovah? [who] among the sons of the mighty shall be likened to Jehovah?In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.For who is there in the heavens in comparison with the Lord? who is like the Lord among the sons of the gods?
Psalms 89:7God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.ùGod is greatly to be feared in the council of the saints, and terrible for all that are round about him.For in thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.God is greatly to be feared among the saints, and to be honoured over all those who are about him.
Psalms 89:8O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?Jehovah, God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.Thou hast set our iniquities before thy eyes: our life in the light of thy countenance.O Lord God of armies, who is strong like you, O Jah? and your unchanging faith is round about you.
Psalms 89:9Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.*Thou* rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, *thou* stillest them.For all our days are spent; and in thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered spider:You have rule over the sea in storm; when its waves are troubled, you make them calm.
Psalms 89:10Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.Thou hast crushed Rahab as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.the days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.Rahab was crushed by you like one wounded to death; with your strong arm you put to flight all your haters.
Psalms 89:11The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.Thine are the heavens, the earth also is thine; the world and its fulness, *thou* hast founded them.Who knoweth the power of thy anger, and for thy fearYours are the heavens, and the earth is yours; you have made the world, and everything which is in it.
Psalms 89:12The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.The north and the south, *thou* hast created them: Tabor and Hermon triumph in thy name.can number thy wrath? So make thy right hand known: and men learned in heart, in wisdom.You have made the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon are sounding with joy at your name.
Psalms 89:13Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.Thine is the arm of might: strong is thy hand, high is thy right hand.Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated in favour of thy servants.Yours is an arm of power; strong is your hand and high your right hand.
Psalms 89:14Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne; loving-kindness and truth go before thy face.We are filled in the morning with thy mercy: and we have rejoiced, and are delighted all our days.The seat of your kingdom is resting on righteousness and right judging: mercy and good faith come before your face.
Psalms 89:15Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.Blessed is the people that know the shout of joy: they walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.We have rejoiced for the days in which thou hast humbled us: for the years in which we have seen evils.Happy are the people who have knowledge of the holy cry: the light of your face, O Lord, will be shining on their way.
Psalms 89:16In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.In thy name are they joyful all the day, and in thy righteousness are they exalted.Look upon thy servants and upon their works: and direct their children.In your name will they have joy all the day: in your righteousness will they be lifted up.
Psalms 89:17For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.For thou art the glory of their strength; and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.For you are the glory of their strength; in your pleasure will our horn be lifted up.
Psalms 89:18For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.For Jehovah is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel, our king.For our breastplate is the Lord; and our king is the Holy One of Israel's.
Psalms 89:19Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.Then thou spakest in vision of thy Holy One, and saidst, I have laid help upon a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.Then your voice came to your holy one in a vision, saying, I have put the crown on a strong one, lifting up one taken from among the people.
Psalms 89:20I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:I have made discovery of David my servant; I have put my holy oil on his head.
Psalms 89:21With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.With whom my hand shall be established; and mine arm shall strengthen him.My hand will be his support; my arm will give him strength.
Psalms 89:22The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. No enemy shall exact upon him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him;The deceit of those who are against him will not overcome him; he will not be troubled by the sons of evil.
Psalms 89:23And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.But I will beat down his adversaries before his face, and will smite them that hate him.I will have those who are against him broken before his face, and his haters will be crushed under my blows.
Psalms 89:24But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted. And my faithfulness and my loving-kindness shall be with him, and by my name shall his horn be exalted.But my faith and my mercy will be with him; and in my name will his horn be lifted up.
Psalms 89:25I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.I will put his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Psalms 89:26He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.*He* shall call unto me, Thou art my father, my ùGod, and the rock of my salvation;He will say to me, You are my father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.
Psalms 89:27Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.And as to me, I will make him firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.And I will make him the first of my sons, most high over the kings of the earth.
Psalms 89:28My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.My loving-kindness will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him;I will keep my mercy for him for ever; my agreement with him will not be changed.
Psalms 89:29His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.And I will establish his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.His seed will keep their place for ever; his kingdom will be eternal, like the heavens.
Psalms 89:30If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in mine ordinances;If his children give up my law, and are not ruled by my decisions;
Psalms 89:31If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:If my rules are broken, and my orders are not kept;
Psalms 89:32Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.Then I will send punishment on them for their sin; my rod will be the reward of their evil-doing.
Psalms 89:33Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor belie my faithfulness;But I will not take away my mercy from him, and will not be false to my faith.
Psalms 89:34My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.I will be true to my agreement; the things which have gone out of my lips will not be changed.
Psalms 89:35Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David:I have made an oath once by my holy name, that I will not be false to David.
Psalms 89:36His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;His seed will not come to an end for ever; the seat of his kingdom will be like the sun before me.
Psalms 89:37It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.It shall be established for ever as the moon, and the witness in the sky is firm. Selah.It will be fixed for ever like the moon; and the witness in heaven is true. (Selah.)
Psalms 89:38But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.But thou hast rejected and cast off; thou hast been very wroth with thine anointed:But you have put him away in disgust; you have been angry with the king of your selection.
Psalms 89:39Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground:You have made your agreement with your servant of no effect: you have had no respect for his crown, it has come down even to the earth.
Psalms 89:40Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.All his walls are broken down; you have given his strong towers to destruction.
Psalms 89:41All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.All that pass by the way plunder him; he is become a reproach to his neighbours.All those who come by take away his goods; he is laughed at by his neighbours.
Psalms 89:42Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice:You have given power to the right hand of his haters; you have made glad all those who are against him.
Psalms 89:43Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.Yea, thou hast turned back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him stand in the battle.His sword is turned back; you have not been his support in the fight.
Psalms 89:44Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground;You have put an end to his glory: the seat of his kingdom has been levelled to the earth.
Psalms 89:45The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah. The days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.You have made him old before his time; he is covered with shame. (Selah.)
Psalms 89:46How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?How long, Jehovah, wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy fury burn like fire?How long, O Lord, will you Keep yourself for ever from our eyes? how long will your wrath be burning like fire?
Psalms 89:47Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain? Remember, as regards me, what life is. Wherefore hast thou created all the children of men to be vanity?See how short my time is; why have you made all men for no purpose?
Psalms 89:48What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah. What man liveth, and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah.What man now living will not see death? will he be able to keep back his soul from the underworld? (Selah.)
Psalms 89:49Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?Where, Lord, are thy former loving-kindnesses, [which] thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?Lord, where are your earlier mercies? where is the oath which you made to David in unchanging faith?
Psalms 89:50Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants that I bear in my bosom [that of] all the mighty peoplesKeep in mind, O Lord, the shame of your servants, and how the bitter words of all the people have come into my heart;
Psalms 89:51Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.Wherewith thine enemies, O Jehovah, have reproached, wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.The bitter words of your haters, O Lord, shaming the footsteps of your king.
Psalms 89:52Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.Blessed be Jehovah for evermore! Amen, and Amen.Let the Lord be praised for ever. So be it, So be it.
