| Psalms 94:1 | O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. | O ùGod of vengeances, Jehovah, ùGod of vengeances, shine forth; | Come let us praise the Lord with joy: let us joyfully sing to God our saviour. | O God, in whose hands is punishment, O God of punishment, let your shining face be seen. |
| Psalms 94:2 | Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. | Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud. | Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; and make a joyful noise to him with psalms. | Be lifted up, O judge of the earth; let their reward come to the men of pride. |
| Psalms 94:3 | LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? | How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph? | For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. | How long will sinners, O Lord, how long will sinners have joy over us? |
| Psalms 94:4 | How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? | [How long] shall they utter [and] speak insolence all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? | For in his hand are all the ends of the earth: and the heights of the mountains are his. | Words of pride come from their lips; all the workers of evil say great things of themselves. |
| Psalms 94:5 | They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage. | They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance; | For the sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. | Your people are crushed by them, O Lord, your heritage is troubled, |
| Psalms 94:6 | They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. | They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless, | Come let us adore and fall down: and weep before the Lord that made us. | They put to death the widow and the guest, they take the lives of children who have no father; |
| Psalms 94:7 | Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. | And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it]. | For he is the Lord our God: and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. | And they say, Jah will not see it, the God of Jacob will not give thought to it. |
| Psalms 94:8 | Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? | Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise? | To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts: | Give your mind to my words, you who are without wisdom among the people; you foolish men, when will you be wise? |
| Psalms 94:9 | He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? | He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see? | As in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness: where your fathers tempted me, they proved me, and saw my works. | Has he by whom your ears were planted no hearing? or is he blind by whom your eyes were formed? |
| Psalms 94:10 | He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? | He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct he that teacheth man knowledge? | Forty years long was I offended with that generation, and I said: These always err in heart. | He who is the judge of the nations, will he not give men the reward of their acts, even he who gives knowledge to man? |
| Psalms 94:11 | The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. | Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. | And these men have not known my ways: so I swore in my wrath that they shall not enter into my rest. | The Lord has knowledge of the thoughts of man, for they are only a breath. |
| Psalms 94:12 | Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; | Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law; | | Happy is the man who is guided by you, O Jah, and to whom you give teaching out of your law; |
| Psalms 94:13 | That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. | That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked. | | So that you may give him rest from the days of evil, till a hole is made ready for the destruction of the sinners. |
| Psalms 94:14 | For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. | For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance; | | The Lord will not give up his people, or take away his support from his heritage; |
| Psalms 94:15 | But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. | For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it. | | But decisions will again be made in righteousness; and they will be kept by all whose hearts are true. |
| Psalms 94:16 | Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? | Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity? | | Who will give me help against the sinners? and who will be my support against the workers of evil? |
| Psalms 94:17 | Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. | If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. | | If the Lord had not been my helper, my soul would quickly have gone down into death. |
| Psalms 94:18 | When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. | When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up. | | If I say, My foot is slipping; your mercy, O Lord, is my support. |
| Psalms 94:19 | In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. | In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul. | | Among all my troubled thoughts, your comforts are the delight of my soul. |
| Psalms 94:20 | Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? | Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law? | | What part with you has the seat of sin, which makes evil into a law? |
| Psalms 94:21 | They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. | They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. | | They are banded together against the soul of the upright, to give decisions against those who have done no wrong. |
| Psalms 94:22 | But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. | But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge. | | But the Lord is my safe resting-place; my God is the Rock where I am safe. |
| Psalms 94:23 | And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off. | And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off. | | And he has made their evil designs come back on themselves, cutting them off in their sin; the Lord our God will put an end to them. |
