Psalms 52:1Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.{To the chief Musician: an instruction. Of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David came to the house of Ahimelech.} Why boastest thou thyself in evil, thou mighty man? The loving-kindness of ùGod [abideth] continually.Unto the end, for Maeleth, understandings to David. The fool said in his hear t: There is no God.To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Psalms 52:2Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.Thy tongue deviseth mischievous things, like a sharp razor, practising deceit.They are corrupted, and become abominable in iniquities: there is none that doth good.Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Psalms 52:3Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.Thou hast loved evil rather than good, lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.God looked down from heaven on the children of men: to see if there were any that did understand, or did seek God.Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Psalms 52:4Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.Thou hast loved all devouring words, O deceitful tongue!All have gone aside, they are become unprofitable together, there is none that doth good, no not one.Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
Psalms 52:5God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Psalms 52:7Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. Behold the man that made not God his strength, but put confidence in the abundance of his riches, [and] strengthened himself in his avarice.Who will give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? when God shall bring back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
Psalms 52:8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I will confide in the loving-kindness of God for ever and ever.But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
