1st-Corinthians 11:1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.Be my imitators, even as *I* also [am] of Christ.Be ye followers of me, as I also am of Christ.Be imitators of me, in so far as I in turn am an imitator of Christ.
1st-Corinthians 11:2Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.Now I praise you, that in all things ye are mindful of me; and that as I have directed you, ye keep the directions.Now I praise you, brethren, that in all things you are mindful of me: and keep my ordinances as I have delivered them to you.Now I commend you for remembering me in everything, and because you hold fast truths and practices precisely as I have taught them to you.
1st-Corinthians 11:3But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.But I wish you to know that the Christ is the head of every man, but woman's head [is] the man, and the Christ's head God.But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.I would have you know, however, that of every man, Christ is the Head, that of a woman her husband is the Head, and that God is Christ's Head.
1st-Corinthians 11:4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.Every man praying or prophesying, having [anything] on his head, puts his head to shame.Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, disgraceth his head.A man who wears a veil when praying or prophesying dishonors his Head;
1st-Corinthians 11:5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered puts her own head to shame; for it is one and the same as a shaved [woman].But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.but a woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her Head, for it is exactly the same as if she had her hair cut short.
1st-Corinthians 11:6For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.For if a woman be not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if [it be] shameful to a woman to have her hair cut off or to be shaved, let her be covered.For if a woman be not covered, let her be shorn. But if it be a shame to a woman to be shorn or made bald, let her cover her head.If a woman will not wear a veil, let her also cut off her hair. But since it is a dishonor to a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her wear a veil.
1st-Corinthians 11:7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.For man indeed ought not to have his head covered, being God's image and glory; but woman is man's glory.The man indeed ought not to cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.For a man ought not to have a veil on his head, since he is the image and glory of God; while woman is the glory of man.
1st-Corinthians 11:8For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.For man is not of woman, but woman of man.For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.Man does not take his origin from woman, but woman takes hers from man.
1st-Corinthians 11:9Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.For also man was not created for the sake of the woman, but woman for the sake of the man.For the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man.For man was not created for woman's sake, but woman for man's.
1st-Corinthians 11:10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.Therefore ought the woman to have authority on her head, on account of the angels.Therefore ought the woman to have a power over her head, because of the angels.That is why a woman ought to have on her head a symbol of subjection, because of the angels.
1st-Corinthians 11:11Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.However, neither [is] woman without man, nor man without woman, in [the] Lord.But yet neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in the Lord.Yet, in the Lord, woman is not independent of man nor man independent of woman.
1st-Corinthians 11:12For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.For as the woman [is] of the man, so also [is] the man by the woman, but all things of God.For as the woman is of the man, so also is the man by the woman: but all things of God.For just as woman originates from man, so also man comes into existence through woman, but everything springs originally from God.
1st-Corinthians 11:13Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman should pray to God uncovered?You yourselves judge: doth it become a woman, to pray unto God uncovered?Judge of this for your own selves: is it seemly for a woman to pray to God when she is unveiled?
1st-Corinthians 11:14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?Does not even nature itself teach you, that man, if he have long hair, it is a dishonour to him?Doth not even nature itself teach you, that a man indeed, if he nourish his hair, it is a shame unto him?Does not Nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a dishonor to him,
1st-Corinthians 11:15But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.But woman, if she have long hair, [it is] glory to her; for the long hair is given [to her] in lieu of a veil.But if a woman nourish her hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.but that if a woman has long hair it is her glory, because her hair was given her for a covering?
1st-Corinthians 11:16But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.But if any one think to be contentious, *we* have no such custom, nor the assemblies of God.But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor the church of God.But if any one is inclined to be contentious on the point, we have no such custom, nor have the Churches of God.
1st-Corinthians 11:17Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.But [in] prescribing [to you on] this [which I now enter on], I do not praise, [namely,] that ye come together, not for the better, but for the worse.Now this I ordain: not praising you, that you come together not for the better, but for the worse.But while giving you these instructions, there is one thing I cannot praise your meeting together, with bad rather than good results.
1st-Corinthians 11:18For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.For first, when ye come together in assembly, I hear there exist divisions among you, and I partly give credit [to it].For first of all I hear that when you come together in the church, there are schisms among you; and in part I believe it.for, in the first place, when you meet as a Church, there are divisions among you. This is what I am told, and I believe that there is some truth in it.
1st-Corinthians 11:19For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.For there must also be sects among you, that the approved may become manifest among you.For there must be also heresies: that they also, who are approved, may be made manifest among you.For there must of necessity be differences of opinion among you, in order that it may be plainly seen who are the men of sterling worth among you.
1st-Corinthians 11:20When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.When ye come therefore together into one place, it is not to eat [the] Lord's supper.When you come therefore together into one place, it is not now to eat the Lord's supper.When, however, you meet in one place, there is no eating the Supper of the Lord;
1st-Corinthians 11:21For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.For each one in eating takes his *own* supper before [others], and one is hungry and another drinks to excess.For every one taketh before his own supper to eat. And one indeed is hungry and another is drunk.for it is his own supper of which each of you is in a hurry to partake, and one eats like a hungry man, while another has already drunk to excess.
1st-Corinthians 11:22What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.Have ye not then houses for eating and drinking? or do ye despise the assembly of God, and put to shame them who have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you? In this [point] I do not praise.What, have you not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the church of God; and put them to shame that have not ? What shall I say to you? Do I praise you? In this I praise you not.Why, have you no homes in which to eat and drink? Or do you wish to show your contempt for the Church of God and make those who have no homes feel ashamed? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this matter I certainly do not praise you.
1st-Corinthians 11:23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:For *I* received from the Lord, that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus, in the night in which he was delivered up, took bread,For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread.For it was from the Lord that I received the facts which, in turn, I handed on to you; how that the Lord Jesus, on the night He was to be betrayed, took some bread,
1st-Corinthians 11:24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.and having given thanks broke [it], and said, This is my body, which [is] for you: this do in remembrance of me.And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me.and after giving thanks He broke it and said, "This is my body which is about to be broken for you. Do this in memory of me."
1st-Corinthians 11:25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye shall drink [it], in remembrance of me.In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.In the same way, when the meal was over, He also took the cup. "This cup," He said, "is the new Covenant of which my blood is the pledge. Do this, every time that you drink it, in memory of me."
1st-Corinthians 11:26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.For as often as ye shall eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye announce the death of the Lord, until he come.For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come.For every time that you eat this bread and drink from the cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until He returns.
1st-Corinthians 11:27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.So that whosoever shall eat the bread, or drink the cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty in respect of the body and of the blood of the Lord.Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.Whoever, therefore, in an unworthy manner, eats the bread or drinks from the cup of the Lord sins against the body and blood of the Lord.
1st-Corinthians 11:28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.But let a man prove himself, and thus eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice.But let a man examine himself, and, having done that, then let him eat the bread and drink from the cup.
1st-Corinthians 11:29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.For [the] eater and drinker eats and drinks judgment to himself, not distinguishing the body.For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.For any one who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgement to himself, if he fails to estimate the body aright.
1st-Corinthians 11:30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.On this account many among you [are] weak and infirm, and a good many are fallen asleep.Therefore are there many inform and weak among you, and many sleep.That is why many among you are sickly and out of health, and why not a few die.
1st-Corinthians 11:31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.But if we judged ourselves, so were we not judged.But if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.If, however, we estimated ourselves aright, we should not be judged.
1st-Corinthians 11:32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.But being judged, we are disciplined of [the] Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.But whilst we are judged, we are chastised by the Lord, that we be not condemned with this world.But when we are judged by the Lord, chastisement follows, to save us from being condemned along with the world.
1st-Corinthians 11:33Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.So that, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait for one another.Wherefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.Therefore, brethren, when you come together for this meal, wait for one another.
1st-Corinthians 11:34And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.If any one be hungry, let him eat at home, that ye may not come together for judgment. But the other things, whenever I come, I will set in order.If any man be hungry, let him eat at home; that you come not together unto judgment. And the rest I will set in order, when I come.If any one is hungry, let him eat at home; so that your coming together may not lead to judgement. The other matters I will deal with whenever I come.
