Proverbs 13:1A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.A wise son [heareth] his father's instruction; but a scorner heareth not rebuke.A wise son heareth the doctrine of his father: but he that is a scorner, beareth not when he is reproved.
Proverbs 13:2A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth; but the soul of the treacherous, violence.Of the fruit of his own mouth shall a man be filled with good things: but the soul of transgressors is wicked.
Proverbs 13:3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his soul; destruction shall be to him that openeth wide his lips.He that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his soul: but he that hath no guard on his speech shall meet with evils.
Proverbs 13:4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.A sluggard's soul desireth and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.The sluggard willeth and willeth not: but the soul of them that work, shall be made fat.
Proverbs 13:5A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. A righteous [man] hateth lying; but the wicked maketh himself odious and cometh to shame.The just shall hate a lying word: but the wicked confoundeth, and shall be confounded.
Proverbs 13:6Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.Righteousness preserveth him that is perfect in the way; but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.Justice keepeth the way of the innocent: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
Proverbs 13:7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. There is that feigneth himself rich, and hath nothing; there is that maketh himself poor, and hath great wealth.One is as it were rich, when he hath nothing: and another is as it were poor, when he hath great riches.
Proverbs 13:8The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. The ransom of a man's life is his riches; but the indigent heareth not rebuke.The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but he that is poor beareth not reprehension.
Proverbs 13:9The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.The light of the righteous rejoiceth; but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.The light of the just giveth joy: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
Proverbs 13:10Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.By pride there only cometh contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.Among the proud there are always contentions: but they that do all things with counsel, are ruled by wisdom.
Proverbs 13:11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.Wealth [gotten] by vanity diminisheth; but he that gathereth by manual-labour shall increase [it].Substance got in haste shall be diminished: but that which by little and little is gathered with the hand shall increase.
Proverbs 13:12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but the desire [that] cometh to pass is a tree of life.Hope that is deferred afflicteth the soul: desire when it cometh is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.Whoso despiseth the word shall be held by it; but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.Whosoever speaketh ill of any thing, bindeth himself for the time to come: but he that feareth the commandment, shall dwell in peace. Deceitful souls go astray in sins: the just are merciful, and shew mercy.
Proverbs 13:14The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.The teaching of the wise [man] is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.The law of the wise is a fountain of life, that he may decline from the ruin of death.
Proverbs 13:15Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.Good understanding procureth favour; but the way of the treacherous is hard.Good instruction shall give grace: in the way of scorners is a deep pit.
Proverbs 13:16Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.Every prudent [man] acteth with knowledge; but the foolish layeth open [his] folly.The prudent mall doth all things with counsel: but he that is a fool, layeth open his folly.
Proverbs 13:17A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.A wicked messenger falleth into evil; but a faithful ambassador is health.The messenger of the wicked shall fall into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
Proverbs 13:18Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.Poverty and shame shall be [to] him that refuseth instruction; but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.Poverty and shame to him that refuseth instruction: but he that yieldeth to reproof, shall be glorified.
Proverbs 13:19The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; but it is abomination to the foolish to depart from evil.The desire that is accomplished, delighteth the soul: fools hate them that flee from evil things.
Proverbs 13:20He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.He that walketh with wise [men] becometh wise; but a companion of the foolish will be depraved.He that walketh with the wise, shall be wise: a friend of fools shall become like to them.
Proverbs 13:21Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.Evil pursueth sinners; but to the righteous good shall be repaid.21Evil pursueth sinners: and to the just good shall be repaid.
Proverbs 13:22A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; but the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous [man].The good man leaveth heirs, sons, and grandsons: and the substance of the sinner is kept for the just.
