Psalms 12:1Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.{To the chief Musician. Upon Sheminith. A Psalm of David.} Save, Jehovah, for the godly man is gone; for the faithful have failed from among the children of men.Unto the end, a psalm for David. How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me?To the Overseer, on the octave. A Psalm of David. Save, Jehovah, for the saintly hath failed, For the stedfast have ceased From the sons of men:
Psalms 12:2They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour: [with] flattering lip, with a double heart, do they speak. How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day?Vanity they speak each with his neighbour, Lip of flattery! With heart and heart they speak.
Psalms 12:3The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things,How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?Jehovah doth cut off all lips of flattery, A tongue speaking great things,
Psalms 12:4Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail, our lips are our own: who [is] lord over us?Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death:Who said, `By our tongue we do mightily: Our lips [are] our own; who [is] lord over us?`
Psalms 12:5For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.Because of the oppression of the afflicted, because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith Jehovah, I will set [him] in safety, at whom they puff.lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:Because of the spoiling of the poor, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now do I arise, saith Jehovah, I set in safety [him who] doth breathe for it.
Psalms 12:6The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. The words of Jehovah are pure words, silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times.but I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.Sayings of Jehovah [are] pure sayings; Silver tried in a furnace of earth refined sevenfold.
Psalms 12:7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.Thou, Jehovah, wilt keep them, thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.Thou, O Jehovah, dost preserve them, Thou keepest us from this generation to the age.
Psalms 12:8The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted. The wicked walk about on every side, when vileness is exalted among the children of men.Around the wicked walk continually, According as vileness is exalted by sons of men!
