Psalms 60:1O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.{To the chief Musician. On Shushan. Testimony. Michtam of David; to teach: when he strove with the Syrians of Mesopotamia, and the Syrians of Zobah, and Joab returned, and smote the Edomites in the valley of salt, twelve thousand.} O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased: restore us again.God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us to you, again.<To the chief music-maker; put to Shushan-eduth. Michtam. Of David. For teaching. When he was fighting against Aram-naharaim and Aramzobah, when Joab came back, and put twelve thousand of the Edomites to death, in the Valley of Salt.> God, you have put us away from you, you have sent us in all directions, you have been angry; O be turned to us again.
Psalms 60:2Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.Thou hast made the earth to tremble, thou hast rent it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.You have made the land tremble. You have torn it. Mend its fractures, For it quakes.By the power of your hand the earth is shaking and broken; make it strong again, for it is moved.
Psalms 60:3Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us to drink the wine of bewilderment.You have shown your people hard things. You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.You have made the people see hard times; you have given us the wine of shaking for our drink.
Psalms 60:4Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth, (Selah,)You have given a banner to those who fear you, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.Give a safe place to those who have fear of you, where they may go in flight from before the bow. (Selah.)
Psalms 60:5That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.That thy beloved ones may be delivered. Save with thy right hand, and answer me.So that your beloved may be delivered, Save with your right hand, and answer us.So that your loved ones may be made safe, let your right hand be my salvation, and give me an answer.
Psalms 60:6God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.God has spoken from his sanctuary: "I will triumph. I will divide Shechem, And measure out the valley of Succoth.God has said in his holy place, I will be glad: I will make a division of Shechem, and the valley of Succoth will be measured out.
Psalms 60:7Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine, and Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my law-giver;Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Psalms 60:8Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.Moab is my wash-pot; upon Edom will I cast my sandal; Philistia, shout aloud because of me.Moab is my wash basin. You don't go out, with our armies, God.Have not you put us away, O God? and you have not gone out with our armies.
Psalms 60:11Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.Give us help from trouble; for vain is man's deliverance.Give us help against the adversary, For the help of man is vain.Give us help in our trouble; for there is no help in man.
Psalms 60:12Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. Through God we shall do valiantly; and he it is that will tread down our adversaries.Through God we shall do valiantly, For it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
