Psalms 62:1Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.{To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation. To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only toward God [is] my soul silent, From Him [is] my salvation. My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.
Psalms 62:2He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.Only He [is] my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress I will never be greatly shaken.
Psalms 62:3How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down. How long will you assault a man, Would all of you throw him down, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
Psalms 62:4They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.Only from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah. They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place. They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
Psalms 62:5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.Only for God, be silent, O my soul, For from Him [is] my hope.My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my expectation is from him.
Psalms 62:6He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.Only He [is] my rock and my salvation, My tower, I am not moved. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.
Psalms 62:7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.On God [is] my salvation, and my honour, The rock of my strength, my refuge [is] in God.With God is my salvation and my honor. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Psalms 62:8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.Trust in Him at all times, O people, Pour forth before Him your heart, God [is] a refuge for us. Selah.Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalms 62:9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.Only vanity [are] the low, a lie the high. In balances to go up they than vanity [are] lighter.Surely men of low degree are just a breath, And men of high degree are a lie. In the balances they will go up. They are together lighter than a breath.
Psalms 62:10Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth when it increaseth set not the heart.Don't trust in oppression. Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, Don't set your heart on them.
Psalms 62:11God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.`God has spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongs to God.
Psalms 62:12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work. And with Thee, O Lord, [is] kindness, For Thou dost recompense to each, According to his work! Also to you, Lord, belongs lovingkindness, For you reward every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah.
