Psalms 33:1Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way. [1 Kings 21.]Be glad in the Lord, O doers of righteousness; for praise is beautiful for the upright.Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.
Psalms 33:2Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.Give praise to the Lord on the corded instrument; make melody to him with instruments of music.Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.
Psalms 33:3Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. In the Lord shall my soul be praised: let the meek hear and rejoice.Make a new song to him; playing expertly with a loud noise.Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.
Psalms 33:4For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.O magnify the Lord with me; and let us extol his name together. For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are certain. For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.
Psalms 33:5He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.I sought the Lord, and he heard me; and he delivered me from all my troubles. His delight is in righteousness and wisdom; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah.
Psalms 33:6By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.Come ye to him and be enlightened: and your faces shall not be confounded.By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the army of heaven by the breath of his mouth.By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Psalms 33:7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him: and saved him out of all his troubles. He makes the waters of the sea come together in a mass; he keeps the deep seas in store-houses.He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; he layeth up the deeps in storehouses.
Psalms 33:8Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.The angel of the Lord shall encamp round about them that fear him: and shall deliver them.Let the earth be full of the fear of the Lord; let all the people of the world be in holy fear of him.Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Psalms 33:9For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.For he gave the word, and it was done; by his order it was fixed for ever. For *he* spoke, and it was [done]; *he* commanded, and it stood fast.
Psalms 33:10The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.The Lord undoes the designs of the nations; he makes the thoughts of the peoples without effect.Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.
Psalms 33:11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good. The Lord's purpose is eternal, the designs of his heart go on through all the generations of man.The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
Psalms 33:12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he has taken for his heritage.Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!
Psalms 33:13The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. Who is the man that desireth life: who loveth to see good days? The Lord is looking down from heaven; he sees all the sons of men;Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:
Psalms 33:14From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.From his house he keeps watch on all who are living on the earth;From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
Psalms 33:15He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.Turn away from evil and do good: seek after peace and pursue it.He makes all their hearts; their works are clear to him.He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works.
Psalms 33:16There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.A king's salvation is not in the power of his army; a strong man does not get free by his great strength. The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Psalms 33:17An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. But the countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil things: to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.A horse is a false hope; his great power will not make any man free from danger. The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.
Psalms 33:18Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.See, the eye of the Lord is on those in whose hearts is the fear of him, on those whose hope is in his mercy;Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,
Psalms 33:19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit. To keep their souls from death; and to keep them living in time of need.To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Psalms 33:20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them. Our souls are waiting for the Lord; he is our help and our salvation. Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield.
Psalms 33:21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken. For in him our hearts have joy; in his holy name is our hope. For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name.
Psalms 33:22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.Let your mercy be on us, O Lord, as we are waiting for you.Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.
