Proverbs 5:3For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:For the lips of a harlot are like a honeycomb dropping, and her throat is smoother than oil.For honey is dropping from the lips of the strange woman, and her mouth is smoother than oil;For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And smoother than oil [is] her mouth,
Proverbs 5:4But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. But her end is bitter as wormwood, and sharp as a two-edged sword. But her end is bitter as wormwood, and sharp as a two-edged sword; And her latter end [is] bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a sword [with] mouths.
Proverbs 5:5Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. Her feet go down into death, and her steps go in as far as hell. Her feet go down to death, and her steps to the underworld; Her feet are going down to death, Sheol do her steps take hold of.
Proverbs 5:6Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. They walk not by the path of life, her steps are wandering, and unaccountable. She never keeps her mind on the road of life; her ways are uncertain, she has no knowledge. The path of life lest thou ponder, Moved have her paths thou knowest not.
Proverbs 5:7Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Now therefore, my son, hear me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.Give ear to me then, my sons, and do not put away my words from you.And now, ye sons, hearken to me, And turn not from sayings of my mouth.
Proverbs 5:8Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the doors of her house.Go far away from her, do not come near the door of her house;Keep far from off her thy way, And come not near unto the opening of her house,
Proverbs 5:9Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:Give not thy honour to strangers, and thy years to the cruel. For fear that you may give your honour to others, and your wealth to strange men:Lest thou give to others thy honour, And thy years to the fierce,
Proverbs 5:10Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labours be in another man's house,And strange men may be full of your wealth, and the fruit of your work go to the house of others;Lest strangers be filled [with] thy power, And thy labours in the house of a stranger,
Proverbs 5:11And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,And thou mourn it the last, when thou shalt have spent thy flesh and thy body, and say:And you will be full of grief at the end of your life, when your flesh and your body are wasted; And thou hast howled in thy latter end, In the consumption of thy flesh and thy food,
Proverbs 5:12And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; Why have I hated instruction, and my heart consented not to reproof,And you will say, How was teaching hated by me, and my heart put no value on training; And hast said, `How have I hated instruction, And reproof hath my heart despised,
Proverbs 5:13And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!And have not heard the voice of them that taught me, and have not in- dined my ear to masters?I did not give attention to the voice of my teachers, my ear was not turned to those who were guiding me!And I have not hearkened to the voice of my directors, And to my teachers have not inclined mine ear.
Proverbs 5:14I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.I have almost been in all evil, in the midst of the church and of the congregation.I was in almost all evil in the company of the people. As a little thing I have been all evil, In the midst of an assembly and a company.
Proverbs 5:15Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.Drink water out of thy own cistern, and the streams of thy own well:Let water from your store and not that of others be your drink, and running water from your fountain.Drink waters out of thine own cistern, Even flowing ones out of thine own well.
Proverbs 5:16Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.Let thy fountains be conveyed abroad, and in the streets divide thy waters.Let not your springs be flowing in the streets, or your streams of water in the open places.Let thy fountains be scattered abroad, In broad places rivulets of waters.
Proverbs 5:17Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.Keep them to thyself alone, neither let strangers be partakers with thee.Let them be for yourself only, not for other men with you.Let them be to thee for thyself, And not to strangers with thee.
Proverbs 5:18Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let thy vein be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of thy youth:Let blessing be on your fountain; have joy in the wife of your early years.Let thy fountain be blessed, And rejoice because of the wife of thy youth,
Proverbs 5:19Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.Let her be thy dearest hind, and most agreeable fawn: let her breasts inebriate thee at all times; he thou delighted continually with her love.As a loving hind and a gentle doe, let her breasts ever give you rapture; let your passion at all times be moved by her love.A hind of loves, and a roe of grace! Let her loves satisfy thee at all times, In her love magnify thyself continually.
Proverbs 5:20And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? Why art thou seduced, my son, by a strange woman, and art cherished in the bosom of another ?Why let yourself, my son, go out of the way with a strange woman, and take another woman in your arms? And why dost thou magnify thyself, My son, with a stranger? And embrace the bosom of a strange woman?
Proverbs 5:21For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. The Lord beholdeth the ways of man, and considereth all his steps. For a man's ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he puts all his goings in the scales. For over-against the eyes of Jehovah are the ways of each, And all his paths He is pondering.
Proverbs 5:22His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. His own iniquities catch the wicked, and he is fast bound with the ropes of his own sins. The evil-doer will be taken in the net of his crimes, and prisoned in the cords of his sin.His own iniquities do capture the wicked, And with the ropes of his sin he is holden.
Proverbs 5:23He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. He shall die, because he hath not received instruction, and in the multitude of his folly he shall be deceived. He will come to his end for need of teaching; he is so foolish that he will go wandering from the right way.He dieth without instruction, And in the abundance of his folly magnifieth himself!
