Psalms 84:1How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!Unto the end, for the sons of Core, a psalm.<To the chief music-maker; put to the Gittith A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.> How dear are your tents, O Lord of armies! To the Overseer. `On the Gittith By sons of Korah.` A Psalm. How beloved Thy tabernacles, Jehovah of Hosts!
Psalms 84:2My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob. The passion of my soul's desire is for the house of the Lord; my heart and my flesh are crying out for the living God.My soul desired, yea, it hath also been consumed, For the courts of Jehovah, My heart and my flesh cry aloud unto the living God,
Psalms 84:3Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins. The little birds have places for themselves, where they may put their young, even your altars, O Lord of armies, my King and my God.(Even a sparrow hath found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she hath placed her brood,) Thine altars, O Jehovah of Hosts, My king and my God.
Psalms 84:4Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou best turned away from the wrath of thy indignation.Happy are they whose resting-place is in your house: they will still be praising you. (Selah.)O the happiness of those inhabiting Thy house, Yet do they praise Thee. Selah.
Psalms 84:5Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us.Happy is the man whose strength is in you; in whose heart are the highways to Zion.O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways [are] in their heart.
Psalms 84:6Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation?Going through the valley of balsam-trees, they make it a place of springs; it is clothed with blessings by the early rain. Those passing through a valley of weeping, A fountain do make it, Blessings also cover the director.
Psalms 84:7They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee. They go from strength to strength; every one of them comes before God in Zion. They go from strength unto strength, He appeareth unto God in Zion.
Psalms 84:8O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.O Lord God of armies, let my prayer come to you: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah.)O Jehovah, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Psalms 84:9Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.O God, let your eyes be on him who is our safe cover, and let your heart be turned to your king. Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Thine anointed,
Psalms 84:10For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land. For a day in your house is better than a thousand. It is better to be a door-keeper in the house of my God, than to be living in the tents of sin.For good [is] a day in Thy courts, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.
Psalms 84:11For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed. The Lord God is our sun and our strength: the Lord will give grace and glory: he will not keep back any good thing from those whose ways are upright. For a sun and a shield [is] Jehovah God, Grace and honour doth Jehovah give. He withholdeth not good To those walking in uprightness.
Psalms 84:12O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.O Lord of armies, happy is the man whose hope is in you.Jehovah of Hosts! O the happiness of a man trusting in Thee.
