Song-of-Solomon 2:1I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.I am the flower of the field, and the lily of the valleys.I am a rose of Sharon, a flower of the valleys. As a lily among the thorns,
Song-of-Solomon 2:2As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. As the lily-flower among the thorns of the waste, so is my love among the daughters. So [is] my friend among the daughters!
Song-of-Solomon 2:3As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. As the apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow, whom I desired: and his fruit was sweet to my palate. As the apple-tree among the trees of the wood, so is my loved one among the sons. I took my rest under his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. As a citron among trees of the forest, So [is] my beloved among the sons, In his shade I delighted, and sat down, And his fruit [is] sweet to my palate.
Song-of-Solomon 2:4He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. He brought me into the cellar of wine, he set in order charity in me.He took me to the house of wine, and his flag over me was love.He hath brought me in unto a house of wine, And his banner over me [is] love,
Song-of-Solomon 2:5Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. Stay me up with flowers, compass me about with apples: because I languish with love.Make me strong with wine-cakes, let me be comforted with apples; I am overcome with love.Sustain me with grape-cakes, Support me with citrons, for I [am] sick with love.
Song-of-Solomon 2:6His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.His left hand is under my head, and his right hand shall embrace me.His left hand is under my head, and his right hand is round about me.His left hand [is] under my head, And his right doth embrace me.
Song-of-Solomon 2:7I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.I adjure you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and the harts of the, fields, that you stir not up, nor make the beloved to awake, till she please.I say to you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes of the field, do not let love be moved till it is ready.I have adjured you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes or by the hinds of the field, Stir not up nor wake the love till she please!
Song-of-Solomon 2:8The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. The voice of my beloved, behold he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping over the hills. The voice of my loved one! See, he comes dancing on the mountains, stepping quickly on the hills. The voice of my beloved! lo, this he is coming, Leaping on the mountains, skipping on the hills.
Song-of-Solomon 2:9My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. My beloved is like a roe, or a young hart. Behold he standeth behind our wall, looking through the windows, looking through the lattices. My loved one is like a roe; see, he is on the other side of our wall, he is looking in at the windows, letting himself be seen through the spaces. My beloved [is] like to a roe, Or to a young one of the harts. Lo, this he is standing behind our wall, Looking from the windows, Blooming from the lattice.
Song-of-Solomon 2:10My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.Behold my beloved speaketh to me: Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful one, and come.My loved one said to me, Get up, my love, my fair one, and come away.My beloved hath answered and said to me, `Rise up, my friend, my fair one, and come away,
Song-of-Solomon 2:11For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; For winter is now past, the rain is over and gone. For, see, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; For lo, the winter hath passed by, The rain hath passed away it hath gone.
Song-of-Solomon 2:12The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The flowers have appeared in our land, the time of pruning is come: the voice of the turtle is heard in our land:The flowers are come on the earth; the time of cutting the vines is come, and the voice of the dove is sounding in our land; The flowers have appeared in the earth, The time of the singing hath come, And the voice of the turtle was heard in our land,
Song-of-Solomon 2:13The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. The fig tree hath put forth her green figs: the vines in flower yield their sweet smell. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come:The fig-tree puts out her green fruit and the vines with their young fruit give a good smell. Get up from your bed, my beautiful one, and come away. The fig-tree hath ripened her green figs, And the sweet-smelling vines have given forth fragrance, Rise, come, my friend, my fair one, yea, come away.
Song-of-Solomon 2:14O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hollow places of the wall, shew me thy face, let thy voice sound in my ears: for thy voice is sweet, and thy face comely.O my dove, you are in the holes of the mountain sides, in the cracks of the high hills; let me see your face, let your voice come to my ears; for sweet is your voice, and your face is fair.My dove, in clefts of the rock, In a secret place of the ascent, Cause me to see thine appearance, Cause me to hear thy voice, For thy voice [is] sweet, and thy appearance comely.
Song-of-Solomon 2:15Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.Catch us the little foxes that destroy the vines: for our vineyard hath flourished.Take for us the foxes, the little foxes, which do damage to the vines; our vines have young grapes.Seize ye for us foxes, Little foxes destroyers of vineyards, Even our sweet-smelling vineyards.
Song-of-Solomon 2:16My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. My beloved to me, and I to him who feedeth among the lilies,My loved one is mine, and I am his: he takes his food among the flowers. My beloved [is] mine, and I [am] his, Who is delighting among the lilies,
Song-of-Solomon 2:17Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.Till the day break, and the shadows retire. Return: be like, my beloved, to a roe, or to a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.Till the evening comes, and the sky slowly becomes dark, come, my loved one, and be like a roe on the mountains of Bether.Till the day doth break forth, And the shadows have fled away, Turn, be like, my beloved, To a roe, or to a young one of the harts, On the mountains of separation!
