Isaiah 57:1The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come].The just perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart, and men of mercy are taken away, because there is none that understandeth; for the just man is taken away from before the face of evil.
Isaiah 57:2He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.Let peace come, let him rest in his bed that hath walked in his uprightness.
Isaiah 57:3But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore. But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the lewd. But draw near here, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the prostitute. But draw near hither, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer, and of the harlot.
Isaiah 57:4Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and thrust out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,Against whom do you sport yourselves? against whom make you a wide mouth, and put out the tongue? Aren't you children of disobedience, a seed of falsehood,Upon whom have you jested? upon whom have you opened your mouth wide, and put out your tongue? are not you wicked children, a false seed,
Isaiah 57:5Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks? Inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the cliffs of the rocks?you who inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree; who kill the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?Who seek your comfort in idols under every green tree, sacrificing children in the torrents, under the high rocks?
Isaiah 57:6Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these? Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink-offering, thou hast offered a meat-offering. Should I receive comfort in these?Among the smooth [stones] of the valley is your portion; they, they are your lot; even to them have you poured a drink-offering, you have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things? In the parts of the torrent is thy portion, this is thy lot: and thou hast poured out libations to them, thou hast offered sacrifice. Shall I not be angry at these things?
Isaiah 57:7Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither thou wentest up to offer sacrifice. On a high and lofty mountain have you set your bed; there also went you up to offer sacrifice.Upon a high and lofty mountain thou hast laid thy bed, and hast gone up thither to offer victims.
Isaiah 57:8Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast uncovered thyself to another than me, and hast gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.Behind the doors and the posts have you set up your memorial: for you have uncovered [yourself] to another than me, and are gone up; you have enlarged your bed, and made you a covenant with them: you loved their bed where you saw it.And behind the door, and behind the post thou best set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself near me, and hast received an adulterer: thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made a covenant with them: thou hast loved their bed with open hand.
Isaiah 57:9And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell. And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even to hell. You went to the king with oil, and did increase your perfumes, and did send your ambassadors far off, and did debase yourself even to Sheol. And thou hast adorned thyself for the king with ointment, and hast multiplied thy perfumes. Thou hast sent thy messengers far off, and wast debased even to hell.
Isaiah 57:10Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thy hand; therefore thou wast not grieved. You were wearied with the length of your way; yet you didn't say, It is in vain: you found a reviving of your strength; therefore you weren't faint.Thou hast been wearied in the multitude of thy ways: yet thou saidst not: I will rest: thou hast found life of thy hand, therefore thou hast not asked.
Isaiah 57:11And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?Of whom have you been afraid and in fear, that you lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? Haven't I held my peace even of long time, and you don't fear me?For whom hast thou been solicitous and afraid, that thou hast lied, and hast not been mindful of me, nor thought on me in thy heart? for I am silent, and as one that seeth not, and thou hast forgotten me.
Isaiah 57:12I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they shall not profit you.I will declare thy justice, and thy works shall not profit thee.
Isaiah 57:13When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain; When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain; When you cry, let those who you have gathered deliver you; but the wind shall take them, a breath shall carry them all away: but he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain. When thou shalt cry, let thy companies deliver thee, but the wind shall carry them all off, a breeze shall take them away, but he that putteth his trust in me, shall inherit the land, and shall possess my holy mount.
Isaiah 57:14And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people. And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people. He will say, Cast you up, cast you up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people. And I will say: Make a way: give free passage, turn out of the path, take away the stumblingblocks out of the way of my people.
Isaiah 57:15For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. For thus saith the High and the Eminent that inhabiteth eternity: and his name is Holy, who dwelleth in the high and holy place, and with a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Isaiah 57:16For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls which I have made. For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls who I have made. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be angry unto the end: because the spirit shall go forth from my face, end breathings I will make.
Isaiah 57:17For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. For the iniquity of his covetousness I was wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I angry, and struck him; I hid [my face] and was angry; and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart. For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry, and I struck him: I hid my face from thee, and was angry: and he went away wandering in his own heart.
Isaiah 57:18I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.I saw his ways, and I healed him, and brought him back, and restored comforts to him, and to them that mourn for him.
Isaiah 57:19I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Yahweh; and I will heal him.I created the fruit of the lips, peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, said the Lord, and I healed him.
Isaiah 57:20But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it can't rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt. But the wicked are like the raging sea, which cannot rest, and the waves thereof cast up dirt and mire.
Isaiah 57:21There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked. There is no peace to the wicked, saith the Lord God.
