Job 35:1Elihu spake moreover, and said,Moreover Elihu answered,And Elihu made answer and said,And Elihu answereth and saith:
Job 35:2Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?"Do you think this to be your right, Or do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's,'Does it seem to you to be right, and righteousness before God, to say,This hast thou reckoned for judgment: Thou hast said `My righteousness [is] more than God`s?`
Job 35:3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? That you ask, 'What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?'What profit is it to me, and how am I better off than if I had done wrong? For thou sayest, `What doth it profit Thee! What do I profit from my sin?`
Job 35:4I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.I will answer you, And your companions with you.I will make answer to you and to your friends:I return thee words, and thy friends with thee,
Job 35:5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. Look to the heavens, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you.Let your eyes be turned to the heavens, and lifted up to see the skies; they are higher than you.Behold attentively the heavens and see, And behold the clouds, They have been higher than thou.
Job 35:6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?If you have done wrong, is he any the worse for it? and if your sins are great in number, what is it to him?If thou hast sinned, what dost thou against Him? And thy transgressions have been multiplied, What dost thou to Him?
Job 35:7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?If you are upright, what do you give to him? or what does he take from your hand?If thou hast been righteous, What dost thou give to Him? Or what from thy hand doth He receive?
Job 35:8Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are; And your righteousness may profit a son of man.Your evil-doing may have an effect on a man like yourself, or your righteousness on a son of man.For a man like thyself [is] thy wickedness, And for a son of man thy righteousness.
Job 35:9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty."By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.Because the hand of the cruel is hard on them, men are making sounds of grief; they are crying out for help because of the arm of the strong.Because of the multitude of oppressions They cause to cry out, They cry because of the arm of the mighty.
Job 35:10But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; But none says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,But no one has said, Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night; And none said, `Where [is] God my maker? Giving songs in the night,
Job 35:11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?Who teaches us more than the animals of the earth, And makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?'Who gives us more knowledge than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the heaven?Teaching us more than the beasts of the earth, Yea, than the fowl of the heavens He maketh us wiser.`
Job 35:12There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. There they cry, but none gives answer, Because of the pride of evil men. There they are crying out because of the pride of the evil-doers, but he gives them no answer. There they cry, and He doth not answer, Because of the pride of evil doers.
Job 35:13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.Surely God will not hear an empty cry, Neither will the Almighty regard it.But God will not give ear to what is false, or the Ruler of all take note of it;Surely vanity God doth not hear, And the Mighty doth not behold it.
Job 35:14Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.How much less when you say you don't see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him!How much less when you say that you do not see him; that the cause is before him, and you are waiting for him.Yea, though thou sayest thou dost not behold Him, Judgment [is] before Him, and stay for Him.
Job 35:15But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:But now, because he has not visited in his anger, Neither does he greatly regard arrogance. And now ... ;And, now, because there is not, He hath appointed His anger, And He hath not known in great extremity.
Job 35:16Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge. Therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, And he multiplies words without knowledge."And Job's mouth is open wide to give out what is of no profit, increasing words without knowledge. And Job [with] vanity doth open his mouth, Without knowledge words he multiplieth.
