Psalms 62:1Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom.{To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation.
Psalms 62:2He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress I will never be greatly shaken.O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.
Psalms 62:3How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. How long will you assault a man, Would all of you throw him down, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory. How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?
Psalms 62:4They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place. They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise. They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.
Psalms 62:5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my expectation is from him. Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.
Psalms 62:6He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.
Psalms 62:7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.With God is my salvation and my honor. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Psalms 62:8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.
Psalms 62:9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.Surely men of low degree are just a breath, And men of high degree are a lie. In the balances they will go up. They are together lighter than a breath.my soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.
Psalms 62:10Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.Don't trust in oppression. Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, Don't set your heart on them. But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.
Psalms 62:11God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.God has spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongs to God.They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.
Psalms 62:12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. Also to you, Lord, belongs lovingkindness, For you reward every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah. But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things. And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work.
