Psalms 56:1Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. Psalms 56:2Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, For they are many who fight proudly against me.Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me: for my soul trusteth in thee. And in the shadow of thy wings will I hope, until iniquity pass away.My enemies would daily swallow me up: for they are many that fight against me, O thou Most High.
Psalms 56:3What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.I will cry to God the most High; to God who hath done good to me.In the time when I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
Psalms 56:4In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?He hath sent from heaven and delivered me: he hath made them a reproach that trod upon me. Psalms 56:5Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.and he hath delivered my soul from the midst of the young lions. I slept troubled. The sons of men, whose teeth are weapons and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
Psalms 56:6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. They conspire and lurk, Watching my steps, they are eager to take my life.Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth.They assemble themselves, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
Psalms 56:7Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God. Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, God.They prepared a snare for my feet; and they bowed down my soul. They dug a pit before my face, and they are fallen into it.Shall they escape by iniquity; in thy anger cast down the people, O God.
Psalms 56:8Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Psalms 56:9When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.Then shall my enemies turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.Arise, O my glory, arise psaltery and harp: I will arise early.When I cry to thee, then shall my enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
