Genesis 49:1And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.Jacob called to his sons, and said: "Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which will happen to you in the days to come.
Genesis 49:2Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.Assemble yourselves, and hear, you sons of Jacob; Listen to Israel, your father.
Genesis 49:3Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:"Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength; The pre-eminence of dignity, and the pre-eminence of power.
Genesis 49:4Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.Boiling over as water, you shall not have the pre-eminence; Because you went up to your father's bed; Then defiled it. He went up to my couch.
Genesis 49:5Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. "Simeon and Levi are brothers; Weapons of violence are their swords.
Genesis 49:6O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.My soul, don't come into their council; My glory, don't be united to their assembly; For in their anger they killed a man, In their self-will they hamstrung an ox.

Genesis 49:8Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. "Judah, your brothers will praise you: Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; Your father's sons will bow down before you.
Genesis 49:9Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?Judah is a lion's whelp. Genesis 49:10The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.The scepter will not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.
Genesis 49:11Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:Binding his foal to the vine, His donkey's colt to the choice vine; He has washed his garments in wine, His robes in the blood of grapes:
Genesis 49:12His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.His eyes will be red with wine, His teeth white with milk.
Genesis 49:13Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon."Zebulun will dwell at the haven of the sea. He will be for a haven of ships. His border will be on Sidon.
Genesis 49:14Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:"Issachar is a strong donkey, Couching down between the sheepfolds.
Genesis 49:15And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.He saw a resting-place, that it was good, The land, that it was pleasant; He bowed his shoulder to bear, And became a servant doing forced labor.
Genesis 49:16Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel."Dan will judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel.

Genesis 49:18I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.I have waited for your salvation, Yahweh.
Genesis 49:19Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last."Gad, a troop will press on him; But he will press on their heel.

Genesis 49:26The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.The blessings of your father Have prevailed above the blessings of the ancient mountains, Than the bounty of the age-old hills. Genesis 49:27Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil."Benjamin is a ravenous wolf. In the morning she will devour the prey. At evening he will divide the spoil."
