| Psalms 16:1 | Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. | A Secret Treasure of David. Preserve me, O God, for I did trust in Thee. | <Michtam. Of David.> Keep me safe, O God: for in you I have put my faith. | |
| Psalms 16:2 | O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; | Thou hast said to Jehovah, `My Lord Thou [art];` My good [is] not for thine own sake; | O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you. | |
| Psalms 16:3 | But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. | For the holy ones who [are] in the land, And the honourable, all my delight [is] in them. | As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the noble in whom is all my delight. | |
| Psalms 16:4 | Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. | Multiplied are their griefs, [Who] have hastened backward; I pour not out their libations of blood, Nor do I take up their names on my lips. | Their sorrows will be increased who go after another god: I will not take drink offerings from their hands, or take their names on my lips. | |
| Psalms 16:5 | The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. | Jehovah [is] the portion of my share, and of my cup, Thou Thou dost uphold my lot. | The Lord is my heritage and the wine of my cup; you are the supporter of my right. | |
| Psalms 16:6 | The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. | Lines have fallen to me in pleasant places, Yea, a beauteous inheritance [is] for me. | Fair are the places marked out for me; I have a noble heritage. | |
| Psalms 16:7 | I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. | I bless Jehovah who hath counselled me; Also [in] the nights my reins instruct me. | I will give praise to the Lord who has been my guide; knowledge comes to me from my thoughts in the night. | |
| Psalms 16:8 | I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. | I did place Jehovah before me continually, Because at my right hand I am not moved. | I have put the Lord before me at all times; because he is at my right hand, I will not be moved. | |
| Psalms 16:9 | Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. | Therefore hath my heart been glad, And my honour doth rejoice, Also my flesh dwelleth confidently: | Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy: while my flesh takes its rest in hope. | |
| Psalms 16:10 | For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. | For Thou dost not leave my soul to Sheol, Nor givest thy saintly one to see corruption. | For you will not let my soul be prisoned in the underworld; you will not let your loved one see the place of death. | |
| Psalms 16:11 | Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. | Thou causest me to know the path of life; Fulness of joys [is] with Thy presence, Pleasant things by Thy right hand for ever! | You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever. | |
