Psalms 80:2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob. Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, let your strength be awake from sleep, and come as our salvation.
Psalms 80:3Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp.Take us back again, O God; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe.
Psalms 80:4O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity.O Lord God of armies, how long will your wrath be burning against the rest of your people?
Psalms 80:5Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time. For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob. You have given them the bread of weeping for food; for their drink you have given them sorrow in great measure.
Psalms 80:6Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.Thou makest us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies mock at it.He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.You make us a cause of war among our neighbours; our haters are laughing at us among themselves.
Psalms 80:7Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved. He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.Take us back again, O God of armies; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe.
Psalms 80:8Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction. You took a vine out of Egypt: driving out the nations, and planting it in their land.
Psalms 80:9Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me,You made ready a place for it, so that it might take deep root, and it sent out its branches over all the land.
Psalms 80:10The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.there shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god.The mountains were covered with its shade, and the great trees with its branches.
Psalms 80:11She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings. For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.It sent out its arms to the Sea, and its branches to the River.
Psalms 80:12Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.Why are its walls broken down by your hands, so that all who go by may take its fruit?
Psalms 80:13The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions. It is uprooted by the pigs from the woods, the beasts of the field get their food from it.
Psalms 80:14Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways:Come back, O God of armies: from heaven let your eyes be turned to this vine, and give your mind to it,
Psalms 80:15And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them.Even to the tree which was planted by your right hand, and to the branch which you made strong for yourself.
Psalms 80:16It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.Burnt with fire cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish. The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever.It is burned with fire; it is cut down: they are made waste by the wrath of your face.
Psalms 80:17Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself. And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock.Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
Psalms 80:18So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.So will we not be turned back from you; keep us in life, and we will give praise to your name.
Psalms 80:19Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.O Jehovah, God of Hosts, turn us back, Cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved!Take us back, O Lord God of armies; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe.
