Psalms 91:1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, In the shade of the Mighty lodgeth habitually,A psalm of a canticle on the sabbath day.Happy is he whose resting-place is in the secret of the Lord, and under the shade of the wings of the Most High;
Psalms 91:2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.He is saying of Jehovah, `My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,`It is good to give praise to the Lord: and to sing to thy name, O most High.Who says of the Lord, He is my safe place and my tower of strength: he is my God, in whom is my hope.
Psalms 91:3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.For He delivereth thee from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.To shew forth thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night:He will take you out of the bird-net, and keep you safe from wasting disease.
Psalms 91:4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.With His pinion He covereth thee over, And under His wings thou dost trust, A shield and buckler [is] His truth.Upon an instrument of ten strings, upon the psaltery: with a canticle upon the harp.You will be covered by his feathers; under his wings you will be safe: his good faith will be your salvation.
Psalms 91:5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;Thou art not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flieth by day,For thou hast given me, O Lord, a delight in thy doings: and in the works of thy hands I shall rejoice.You will have no fear of the evil things of the night, or of the arrow in flight by day,
Psalms 91:6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.Of pestilence in thick darkness that walketh, Of destruction that destroyeth at noon,O Lord, how great are thy works! thy thoughts are exceeding deep.Or of the disease which takes men in the dark, or of the destruction which makes waste when the sun is high.
Psalms 91:7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.There fall at thy side a thousand, And a myriad at thy right hand, Unto thee it cometh not nigh.The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things.You will see a thousand falling by your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.
Psalms 91:8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.But with thine eyes thou lookest, And the reward of the wicked thou seest,When the wicked shall spring up as grass: and all the workers of iniquity shall appear: That they may perish for ever and ever:Only with your eyes will you see the reward of the evil-doers.
Psalms 91:9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;(For Thou, O Jehovah, [art] my refuge,) The Most High thou madest thy habitation.but thou, O Lord, art most high for evermore.Because you have said, I am in the hands of the Lord, the Most High is my safe resting-place;
Psalms 91:10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.Evil happeneth not unto thee, And a plague cometh not near thy tent,For behold thy enemies, O Lord, for behold thy enemies shall perish: and all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.No evil will come on you, and no disease will come near your tent.
Psalms 91:11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.For His messengers He chargeth for thee, To keep thee in all thy ways,But my horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn: and my old age in plentiful mercy.For he will give you into the care of his angels to keep you wherever you go.
Psalms 91:12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.On the hands they bear thee up, Lest thou smite against a stone thy foot.My eye also hath looked down upon my enemies: and my ear shall hear of the downfall of the malignant that rise up against me.In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.
Psalms 91:13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.On lion and asp thou treadest, Thou trampest young lion and dragon.The just shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus.You will put your foot on the lion and the snake; the young lion and the great snake will be crushed under your feet.
Psalms 91:14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.Because in Me he hath delighted, I also deliver him I set him on high, Because he hath known My name.They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.Because he has given me his love, I will take him out of danger: I will put him in a place of honour, because he has kept my name in his heart.
Psalms 91:15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.He doth call Me, and I answer him, I [am] with him in distress, I deliver him, and honour him.They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated,When his cry comes up to me, I will give him an answer: I will be with him in trouble; I will make him free from danger and give him honour.
Psalms 91:16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.With length of days I satisfy him, And I cause him to look on My salvation!that they may shew, That the Lord our God is righteous, and there is no iniquity in him.With long life will he be rewarded; and I will let him see my salvation.
