Isaiah 27:1In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.In that day lay a charge doth Jehovah, With his sword the sharp, and the great, and the strong, On leviathan a fleeing serpent, And on leviathan a crooked serpent, And He hath slain the dragon that [is] in the sea.In that day the LORD with his keen and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.In that day the Lord, with his great and strong and cruel sword, will send punishment on Leviathan, the quick-moving snake, and on Leviathan, the twisted snake; and he will put to death the dragon which is in the sea.
Isaiah 27:2In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.In that day, `A desirable vineyard,` respond ye to her,In that day sing ye to her, A vineyard of red wine.In that day it will be said, A vine-garden of delight, make a song about it.
Isaiah 27:3I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.I, Jehovah, am its keeper, every moment I water it, Lest any lay a charge against it, Night and day I keep it!I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.I, the Lord, am watching it; I will give it water at all times: I will keep it night and day, for fear that any damage comes to it.
Isaiah 27:4Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.Fury is not in Me; Who giveth Me a brier a thorn in battle? I step into it, I burn it at once.Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together. My passion is over: if the thorns were fighting against me, I would make an attack on them, and they would be burned up together.
Isaiah 27:5Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.Or he doth take hold on My strength, He doth make peace with Me, Peace he doth make with Me.Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me, and he shall make peace with me.Or let him put himself under my power, and make peace with me.
Isaiah 27:6He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. Those coming in He causeth to take root, Jacob doth blossom, and flourished hath Israel, And they have filled the face of the world [with] increase. He shall cause them that descend from Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. In days to come Jacob will take root: Israel will put out buds and flowers; and the face of the world will be full of fruit.
Isaiah 27:7Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?As the smiting of his smiter hath He smitten him? As the slaying of his slain doth He slay?Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?Is his punishment like the punishment of those who overcame him? or are his dead as great in number as those he put to the sword?
Isaiah 27:8In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.In measure, in sending it forth, thou strivest with it, He hath taken away by His sharp wind, In the day of an east wind,In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.Your anger against her has been made clear by driving her away; he has taken her away with his storm-wind in the day of his east wind.
Isaiah 27:9By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.Therefore by this is the iniquity of Jacob covered, And this [is] all the fruit To take away his sin, in His setting all the stones of an altar, As chalkstones beaten in pieces, They rise not shrines and images.By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalk-stones that are beaten asunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.So by this will the sin of Jacob be covered, and this is all the fruit of taking away his punishment; when all the stones of the altar are crushed together, so that the wood pillars and the sun-images will not be put up again.
Isaiah 27:10Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof. For the fenced city [is] alone, A habitation cast out and forsaken as a wilderness, There doth the calf delight, And there it lieth down, And hath consumed its branches.Yet the fortified city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume its branches. For the strong town is without men, an unpeopled living-place; and she has become a waste land: there the young ox will take his rest, and its branches will be food for him.
Isaiah 27:11When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour. In the withering of its branch it is broken off, Women are coming in setting it on fire, For it [is] not a people of understanding, Therefore pity it not doth its Maker, And its Former doth not favour it.When its boughs are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will show them no favor. When its branches are dry they will be broken off; the women will come and put fire to them: for it is a foolish people; for this cause he who made them will have no mercy on them, and he whose work they are will not have pity on them.
Isaiah 27:12And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. And it hath come to pass, in that day, Beat out doth Jehovah from the branch of the river, Unto the stream of Egypt, And ye are gathered one by one, O sons of Israel. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall gather from the channel of the river to the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. And it will be in that day that the Lord will get together his grain, from the River to the stream of Egypt, and you will be got together with care, O children of Israel.
Isaiah 27:13And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem. And it hath come to pass, in that day, It is blown with a great trumpet, And come in have those perishing in the land of Asshur, And those cast out in the land of Egypt, And have bowed themselves to Jehovah, In the holy mount in Jerusalem! And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD on the holy mount at Jerusalem. And it will be in that day that a great horn will be sounded; and those who were wandering in the land of Assyria, and those who had been sent away into the land of Egypt, will come; and they will give worship to the Lord in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
