Psalms 33:1Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.Sing, ye righteous, in Jehovah, For upright ones praise [is] comely.For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way. [1 Kings 21.]
Psalms 33:2Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.Give ye thanks to Jehovah with a harp, With psaltery of ten strings sing praise to Him,I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.
Psalms 33:3Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.Sing ye to Him a new song, Play skilfully with shouting.In the Lord shall my soul be praised: let the meek hear and rejoice.
Psalms 33:4For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.For upright [is] the word of Jehovah, And all His work [is] in faithfulness.O magnify the Lord with me; and let us extol his name together.
Psalms 33:5He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.Loving righteousness and judgment, Of the kindness of Jehovah is the earth full.I sought the Lord, and he heard me; and he delivered me from all my troubles.
Psalms 33:6By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.By the word of Jehovah The heavens have been made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.Come ye to him and be enlightened: and your faces shall not be confounded.
Psalms 33:7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.Gathering as a heap the waters of the sea, Putting in treasuries the depths.This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him: and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalms 33:8Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.Afraid of Jehovah are all the earth, Of Him are all the inhabitants of the world afraid.The angel of the Lord shall encamp round about them that fear him: and shall deliver them.
Psalms 33:9For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.For He hath said, and it is, He hath commanded, and it standeth.O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.
Psalms 33:10The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.Jehovah made void the counsel of nations, He disallowed the thoughts of the peoples.Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Psalms 33:11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. The counsel of Jehovah to the age standeth, The thoughts of His heart to all generations.The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.
Psalms 33:12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.O the happiness of the nation whose God [is] Jehovah, Of the people He did choose, For an inheritance to Him.Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Psalms 33:13The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. From the heavens hath Jehovah looked, He hath seen all the sons of men.Who is the man that desireth life: who loveth to see good days?
Psalms 33:14From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. From the fixed place of His dwelling, He looked unto all inhabitants of the earth;Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalms 33:15He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.Who is forming their hearts together, Who is attending unto all their works.Turn away from evil and do good: seek after peace and pursue it.
Psalms 33:16There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.The king is not saved by the multitude of a force. A mighty man is not delivered, By abundance of power.The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.
Psalms 33:17An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.A false thing [is] the horse for safety, And by the abundance of his strength He doth not deliver.But the countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil things: to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
Psalms 33:18Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;Lo, the eye of Jehovah [is] to those fearing Him, To those waiting for His kindness,The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.
Psalms 33:19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.To deliver from death their soul, And to keep them alive in famine.The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit.
Psalms 33:20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.Our soul hath waited for Jehovah, Our help and our shield [is] He,Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.
Psalms 33:21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.For in Him doth our heart rejoice, For in His holy name we have trusted.The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
Psalms 33:22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.Let Thy kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, As we have waited for Thee!The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.
