Psalms 41:1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in the time of trouble.Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil. <To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> Happy is the man who gives thought to the poor; the Lord will be his saviour in the time of trouble.Unto the end, understanding for the sons of Core.
Psalms 41:2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies.Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies. The Lord will keep him safe, and give him life; the Lord will let him be a blessing on the earth, and will not give him into the hand of his haters. As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God.
Psalms 41:3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness. The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength. My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God?
Psalms 41:4I said, LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. I said, Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.My tears have been any bread day and night, whilst it is said to me daily : Where is thy God?
Psalms 41:5My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?Mine enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish? My haters say evil against me, When will he be dead, and his name come to an end? These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me : for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God : With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting.
Psalms 41:6And if he cometh to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.And if he come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; His heart gathereth iniquity to itself: When he goeth abroad, he telleth it. If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place. Why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance,
Psalms 41:7All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. All that hate me whisper together against me; Against me do they devise my hurt. All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.and my God. My soul is troubled within myself : therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill.
Psalms 41:8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast to him: and now that he lieth he shall rise no more.An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast unto him; And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.Deep calleth on deep, at the noise of thy flood-gates. All thy heights and thy billows have passed over me.
Psalms 41:9Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me. Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.In the daytime the Lord hath commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life.
Psalms 41:10But thou, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. But thou, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me, and raise me up, That I may requite them. But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, lifting me up, so that I may give them their punishment.I will say to God : Thou art my support. Why hast thou forgotten me? and why go I mourning, whilst my enemy afflicteth me?
Psalms 41:11By this I know that thou favorest me, because my enemy doth not triumph over me.By this I know that thou delightest in me, Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. By this I see that you have pleasure in me, because my hater does not overcome me.Whilst my bones are broken, my enemies who trouble me have reproached me; Whilst they say to me day be day : Where is thy God?
Psalms 41:12And as for me, thou upholdest me in my integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, And settest me before thy face for ever. And as for me, you are my support in my righteousness, giving me a place before your face for ever. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope thou in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance, and my God.
Psalms 41:13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and amen.Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. Book II Psalm 42 For the Chief Musician. Maschil of the sons of Korah. May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.
