| Proverbs 29:1 | He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. | He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. | A man hating sharp words and making his heart hard, will suddenly be broken and will not be made well again. | A man often reproved, hardening the neck, Is suddenly broken, and there is no healing. |
| Proverbs 29:2 | When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. | When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man beareth rule, the people sigh. | When the upright have power, the people are glad; when an evil man is ruler, grief comes on the people. | In the multiplying of the righteous the people rejoice, And in the ruling of the wicked the people sigh. |
