Psalms 27:1A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?{[A Psalm] of David.} Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalms 27:2When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple. When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Psalms 27:3Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident.Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts.Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Psalms 27:4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. One [thing] have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire [of him] in his temple.Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
Psalms 27:5For in the time of trouble he will hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle will he hide me; he will set me up upon a rock. For in the day of evil he will hide me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tent will he keep me concealed: he will set me high upon a rock.Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalms 27:6And now shall my head be lifted above my enemies around me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms unto Jehovah.Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
Psalms 27:7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.Hear, Jehovah; with my voice do I call; be gracious unto me, and answer me.The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Psalms 27:8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said to thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.My heart said for thee, Seek ye my face. Thy face, O Jehovah, will I seek. The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Psalms 27:9Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Psalms 27:10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.For had my father and my mother forsaken me, then had Jehovah taken me up.When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalms 27:11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies.Teach me thy way, Jehovah, and lead me in an even path, because of mine enemies.Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Psalms 27:12Deliver me not over to the will of my enemies: for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.Deliver me not over to the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
Psalms 27:13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.Unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living ...!I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalms 27:14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he will strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.Wait for Jehovah; be strong and let thy heart take courage: yea, wait for Jehovah.Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
