Psalms 60:1To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.Unto the end, in hymns, for David.<To the chief music-maker; put to Shushan-eduth. Michtam. You have torn it. Mend its fractures, For it quakes.
Psalms 60:3Thou hast shown thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment. To thee have I cried from the ends of the earth: when my heart was in anguish, thou hast exalted me on a rock. Thou hast conducted me;You have made the people see hard times; you have given us the wine of shaking for our drink. You have shown your people hard things. You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
Psalms 60:4Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.for thou hast been my hope; a tower of strength against the face of the enemy.Give a safe place to those who have fear of you, where they may go in flight from before the bow. (Selah.)You have given a banner to those who fear you, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
Psalms 60:5That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.In thy tabernacle I shall dwell for ever: I shall be protected under the covert of thy wings. So that your loved ones may be made safe, let your right hand be my salvation, and give me an answer. So that your beloved may be delivered, Save with your right hand, and answer us.
Psalms 60:6God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Succoth. For thou, my God, hast heard my prayer: thou hast given an inheritance to them that fear thy name.God has said in his holy place, I will be glad: I will make a division of Shechem, and the valley of Succoth will be measured out.God has spoken from his sanctuary: "I will triumph. I will divide Shechem, And measure out the valley of Succoth.
Psalms 60:7Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of my head; Judah is my lawgiver;Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years even to generation and generation.Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; and Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my law-giver;Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.
Psalms 60:8Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.He abideth for ever in the sight of God: his mercy and truth who shall search ?Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I put out my shoe; over Philistia will a glad cry be sounded.Moab is my wash basin. I will throw my shoe on Edom. I shout in triumph over Philistia."
Psalms 60:9Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?So will I sing a psalm to thy name for ever and ever: that I may pay my vows from day to day.Who will take me into the strong town? who will be my guide into Edom?Who will bring me into the strong city? Who has led me to Edom?
Psalms 60:10Wilt thou not, O God, who hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, who didst not go out with our armies?Have not you put us away, O God? and you have not gone out with our armies.Haven't you, God, rejected us? You don't go out, with our armies, God.
