Psalms 72:3The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.Because I had a zeal on occasion of the wicked, seeing the prosperity of sinners.May the mountains give peace to the people, and the hills righteousness. The mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness.
Psalms 72:4He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor. For there is no regard to their death, nor is there strength in their stripes.May he be a judge of the poor among the people, may he give salvation to the children of those who are in need; by him let the violent be crushed. He judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor.
Psalms 72:5They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. They are not in the labour of men: neither shall they be scourged like other men. B Therefore pride hath held them fast: they are covered with their iniquity and their wickedness.May his life go on as long as the sun and moon, through all generations. They fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation generations.
Psalms 72:6He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.Their iniquity hath come forth, as it were from fatness: they have passed into the affection of the heart.May he come down like rain on the cut grass; like showers watering the earth. He cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers sprinkling the earth.
Psalms 72:7In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. They have thought and spoken wickedness: they have spoken iniquity on high.In his days may the upright do well, living in peace as long as there is a moon in heaven.Flourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not.
Psalms 72:8He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. They have set their mouth against heaven: and their tongue hath passed through the earth.Let his kingdom be from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth. And he ruleth from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth.
Psalms 72:9They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. Therefore will my people return here and full days shall be found in them.Let those who are against him go down before him; and let his haters be low in the dust. Before him bow do the inhabitants of the dry places, And his enemies lick the dust.
Psalms 72:10The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. And they said: How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands come back with offerings; let the kings of Sheba and Seba give of their stores.Kings of Tarshish and of the isles send back a present. Kings of Sheba and Seba a reward bring near.
Psalms 72:11Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.Behold these are sinners; and yet abounding in the world they have obtained riches.Yes, let all kings go down before him; let all nations be his servants. And all kings do bow themselves to him, All nations do serve him,
Psalms 72:12For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. And I said: Then have I in vain justified my heart, and washed my hands among the innocent. For he will be a saviour to the poor in answer to his cry; and to him who is in need, without a helper. For he delivereth the needy who crieth, And the poor when he hath no helper,
Psalms 72:13He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. And I have been scourged all the day; and my chastisement hath been in the mornings. He will have pity on the poor, and be the saviour of those who are in need.He hath pity on the poor and needy, And the souls of the needy he saveth,
Psalms 72:14He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall be their blood in his sight. If I said: I will speak thus; behold I should condemn the generation of thy children. He will keep their souls free from evil designs and violent attacks; and their blood will be of value in his eyes. From fraud and from violence he redeemeth their soul, And precious is their blood in his eyes.
Psalms 72:15And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.I studied that I might know this thing, it is a labour in my sight:May he have long life, and may gold from Sheba be given to him: may prayers be made for him at all times; may blessings be on him every day.And he liveth, and giveth to him of the gold of Sheba, And prayeth for him continually, All the day he doth bless him.
Psalms 72:16There shall be a handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit of it shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.Until I go into the sanctuary of God, and understand concerning their last ends.May there be wide-stretching fields of grain in the land, shaking on the top of the mountains, full of fruit like Lebanon: may its stems be unnumbered like the grass of the earth. There is a handful of corn in the earth, On the top of mountains, Shake like Lebanon doth its fruit, And they flourish out of the city as the herb of the earth.
Psalms 72:17His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. But indeed for deceits thou hast put it to them: when they were lifted up thou hast cast them down.May his name go on for ever, as long as the sun: may men be blessing themselves by him; may all nations be blessing his name. His name is to the age, Before the sun is his name continued, And they bless themselves in him, All nations do pronounce him happy.
Psalms 72:18Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. How are they brought to desolation? they have suddenly ceased to be: they have perished by reason of their iniquity.Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, the only doer of wonders.Blessed is Jehovah God, God of Israel, He alone is doing wonders,
Psalms 72:19And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and amen.As the dream of them that awake, O Lord; so in thy city thou shalt bring their image to nothing.Praise to the glory of his noble name for ever; let all the earth be full of his glory.
