1st-Corinthians 5:1It is reported commonly that there is lewdness among you, and such lewdness as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.It is actually reported that there is fornication among you, and of a kind unheard of even among the Gentiles a man has his father's wife!It is said, in fact, that there is among you a sin of the flesh, such as is not seen even among the Gentiles, that one of you has his father's wife.Whoredom is actually heard of among you, and such whoredom as is not even named among the nations as that one hath the wife of the father!
1st-Corinthians 5:2And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.And you, instead of mourning and removing from among you the man who has done this deed of shame, are filled with self-complacency!And in place of feeling sorrow, you are pleased with yourselves, so that he who has done this thing has not been sent away from among you.and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,
1st-Corinthians 5:3For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,I for my part, present with you in spirit although absent in body, have already, as though I were present, judged him who has so acted.For I myself, being present in spirit though not in body, have come to a decision about him who has done this thing;for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so wrought this thing:
1st-Corinthians 5:4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are assembled, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are all assembled and my spirit is with you, together with the power of our Lord Jesus,In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you have come together with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ ye being gathered together, also my spirit with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1st-Corinthians 5:5To deliver such one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.I have handed over such a man to Satan for the destruction of his body, that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord Jesus.That this man is to be handed over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may have forgiveness in the day of the Lord Jesus.to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
1st-Corinthians 5:6Your boasting is not good. Know ye not, that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?It is no good thing this which you make the ground of your boasting. Do you not know that a little yeast corrupts the whole of the dough?This pride of yours is not good. Do you not see that a little leaven makes a change in all the mass?Not good [is] your glorying; have ye not known that a little leaven the whole lump doth leaven?
1st-Corinthians 5:7Cleanse out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:Get rid of the old yeast so that you may be dough of a new kind; for in fact you *are* free from corruption. For our Passover Lamb has already been offered in sacrifice even Christ.Take away, then, the old leaven, so that you may be a new mass, even as you are without leaven. For Christ has been put to death as our Passover.cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened, for also our passover for us was sacrificed Christ,
1st-Corinthians 5:8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.Therefore let us keep our festival not with old yeast nor with the yeast of what is evil and mischievous, but with bread free from yeast the bread of transparent sincerity and of truth.Let us then keep the feast, not with old leaven, and not with the leaven of evil thoughts and acts, but with the unleavened bread of true thoughts and right feelings.so that we may keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened food of sincerity and truth.
1st-Corinthians 5:9I have written to you in this epistle, not to associate with persons guilty of lewdness:I wrote to you in that letter that you were not to associate with fornicators;In my letter I said to you that you were not to keep company with those who go after the desires of the flesh;I did write to you in the epistle, not to keep company with whoremongers
1st-Corinthians 5:10Yet not altogether with lewd persons of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters: for then ye must needs go out of the world.not that in this world you are to keep wholly aloof from such as they, any more than from people who are avaricious and greedy of gain, or from worshippers of idols. For that would mean that you would be compelled to go out of the world altogether.But I had not in mind the sinners who are outside the church, or those who have a desire for and take the property of others, or those who give worship to images; for it is not possible to keep away from such people without going out of the world completely:and not certainly with the whoremongers of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, seeing ye ought then to go forth out of the world
1st-Corinthians 5:11But now I have written to you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother is a lewd person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such person no not to eat.But what I meant was that you were not to associate with any one bearing the name of "brother," if he was addicted to fornication or avarice or idol-worship or abusive language or hard-drinking or greed of gain. With such a man you ought not even to eat.But the sense of my letter was that if a brother had the name of being one who went after the desires of the flesh, or had the desire for other people's property, or was in the way of using violent language, or being the worse for drink, or took by force what was not his, you might not keep company with such a one, or take food with him.and now, I did write to you not to keep company with [him], if any one, being named a brother, may be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner with such a one not even to eat together;
1st-Corinthians 5:12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do ye not judge them that are within?For what business of mine is it to judge outsiders? Is it not for you to judge those who are within the ChurchFor it is no business of mine to be judging those who are outside; but it is yours to be judging those who are among you;for what have I also those without to judge? those within do ye not judge?
1st-Corinthians 5:13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.while you leave to God's judgement those who are outside? Remove the wicked man from among you.As for those who are outside, God is their judge. So put away the evil man from among you.and those without God doth judge; and put ye away the evil from among yourselves.
