Psalms 68:1To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.To the Overseer. A Psalm, a song of David. Rise doth God scattered are His enemies! And those hating Him flee from His face.Let God arise! Let his enemies be scattered! Let them who hate him also flee before him.Unto the end, for them that shall be changed; for David.
Psalms 68:2As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.As the driving away of smoke Thou drivest away, As the melting of wax before fire, The wicked perish at the presence of God.As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.SAVE me, O God: for the waters are come in even unto my soul.
Psalms 68:3But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yes, let them exceedingly rejoice.And the righteous rejoice, they exult before God, And they joy with gladness.But let the righteous be glad. Let them rejoice before God. Yes, let them rejoice with gladness.I stick fast in the mire of the deep: and there is no sure standing. I am come into the depth of the sea: and a tempest hath overwhelmed me.
Psalms 68:4Sing to God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.Sing ye to God praise His name, Raise up a highway for Him who is riding in deserts, In Jah [is] His name, and exult before Him.Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds To Yah, his name! Rejoice before him.I have laboured with crying; my jaws are become hoarse: my eyes have failed, whilst I hope in my God.
Psalms 68:5A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.Father of the fatherless, and judge of the widows, [Is] God in His holy habitation.A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, Is God in his holy habitation.They are multiplied above the hairs of my head, who hate me without cause. My enemies are grown strong who have wrongfully persecuted me: then did I pay that which I took not away.
Psalms 68:6God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those who are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.God causing the lonely to dwell at home, Bringing out bound ones into prosperity, Only the refractory have inhabited a dry place.God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, But the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my offences are not hidden from thee:
Psalms 68:7O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:O God, in Thy going forth before Thy people, In Thy stepping through the wilderness, Selah.God, when you went forth before your people, When you marched through the wilderness... Selah.Let not them be ashamed for me, who look for thee, O Lord, the Lord of hosts. Let them not be confounded on my account, who seek thee, O God of Israel.
Psalms 68:8The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.The earth hath shaken, Yea, the heavens have dropped before God, This Sinai before God, the God of Israel.The earth trembled. The sky also poured down rain at the presence of the God of Sinai At the presence of God, the God of Israel.Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
Psalms 68:9Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, by which thou didst confirm thy inheritance, when it was weary.A shower of free-will gifts thou shakest out, O God. Thine inheritance, when it hath been weary, Thou hast established it.You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance, when it was weary.I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to the sons of my mother.
Psalms 68:10Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.Thy company have dwelt in it, Thou preparest in Thy goodness for the poor, O God.Your congregation lived therein. You, God, prepared your goodness for the poor.For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up: and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
Psalms 68:11The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.The Lord doth give the saying, The female proclaimers [are] a numerous host.The Lord announced the word. The ones who proclaim it are a great company.And I covered my soul in fasting: and it was made a reproach to me.
Psalms 68:12Kings of armies fled apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.Kings of hosts flee utterly away, And a female inhabitant of the house apportioneth spoil."Kings of armies flee! They flee!" She who waits at home divides the spoil,And I made haircloth my garment: and I became a byword to them.
Psalms 68:13Though ye have lain among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.Though ye do lie between two boundaries, Wings of a dove covered with silver, And her pinions with yellow gold.While you sleep among the campfires, The wings of a dove sheathed with silver, Her feathers with shining gold.They that sat in the gate spoke against me: and they that drank wine made me their song.
Psalms 68:14When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.When the Mighty spreadeth kings in it, It doth snow in Salmon.When the Almighty scattered kings in her, It snowed on Zalmon.But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O Lord; for the time of thy good pleasure, O God. In the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
Psalms 68:15The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; a high hill as the hill of Bashan.A hill of God [is] the hill of Bashan, A hill of heights [is] the hill of Bashan.The mountains of Bashan are majestic mountains. The mountains of Bashan are rugged.Draw me out of the mire, that I may not stick fast: deliver me from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
Psalms 68:16Why leap ye, ye lofty hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.Why do ye envy, O high hills, The hill God hath desired for His seat? Jehovah also doth tabernacle for ever.Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, At the mountain where God chooses to reign? Yes, Yahweh will dwell there forever.Let not the tempest of water drown me, nor the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
Psalms 68:17The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.The chariots of God [are] myriads, thousands of changes, The Lord [is] among them, in Sinai, in the sanctuary.The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. The Lord is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary.Hear me, O Lord, for thy mercy is kind; look upon me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
Psalms 68:18Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.Thou hast ascended on high, Thou hast taken captive captivity, Thou hast taken gifts for men, That even the refractory may rest, O Jah God.You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. You have received gifts among men, Yes, among the rebellious also, that Yah God might dwell there.And turn not away thy face from thy servant: for I am in trouble, hear me speedily.
Psalms 68:19Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.Blessed [is] the Lord, day by day He layeth on us. God Himself [is] our salvation. Selah.Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, Even the God who is our salvation. Selah.Attend to my soul, and deliver it: save me because of my enemies.
Psalms 68:20He that is our God is the God of salvation; and to GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.God Himself [is] to us a God for deliverances, And Jehovah Lord hath the outgoings of death.God is to us a God of deliverance. To Yahweh, the Lord, belongs escape from death.Thou knowest my reproach, and my confusion, and my shame.
Psalms 68:21But God will wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such one as goeth on still in his trespasses.Only God doth smite The head of His enemies, The hairy crown of a habitual walker in his guilt.But God will strike through the head of his enemies, The hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.In thy sight are all they that afflict me; my heart hath expected reproach and misery. And I looked for one that would grieve together with me, but there was none: and for one that would comfort me, and I found none.
Psalms 68:22The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea.The Lord said: `From Bashan I bring back, I bring back from the depths of the sea.The Lord said, "I will bring you again from Bashan, I will bring you again from the depths of the sea;And they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Psalms 68:23That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thy enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.So that thou dashest thy foot in blood, [In the blood of] enemies the tongue of Thy dogs.`That you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood, That the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies."Let their table become as a snare before them, and a recompense, and a stumblingblock.
Psalms 68:24They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.They have seen Thy goings, O God, Goings of my God, my king, in the sanctuary.They have seen your goings, God, Even the goings of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.Let their eyes be darkened that they see not; and their back bend thou down always.
Psalms 68:25The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.Singers have been before, Behind [are] players on instruments, In the midst virgins playing with timbrels.The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, In the midst of the ladies playing with tambourines,Pour out thy indignation upon them: and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
Psalms 68:26Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.In assemblies bless ye God, The Lord from the fountain of Israel."Bless God in the congregations, Even the Lord in the assembly of Israel!"Let their habitation be made desolate: and let there be none to dwell in their tabernacles.
Psalms 68:27There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their counsel, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.There [is] little Benjamin their ruler, Heads of Judah their defence, Heads of Zebulun heads of Naphtali.There is little Benjamin, their ruler, The princes of Judah, their council, The princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.Because they have persecuted him whom thou hast smitten; and they have added to the grief of my wounds.
Psalms 68:28Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.Thy God hath commanded thy strength, Be strong, O God, this Thou hast wrought for us.Your God has commanded your strength. Strengthen, God, that which you have done for us.Add thou iniquity upon their iniquity: and let them not come into thy justice.
Psalms 68:29Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents to thee.Because of Thy temple at Jerusalem, To Thee do kings bring a present.Because of your temple at Jerusalem, Kings shall bring presents to you.Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; and with the just let them not be written.
Psalms 68:30Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one shall submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.Rebuke a beast of the reeds, a company of bulls, With calves of the peoples, Each humbling himself with pieces of silver, Scatter Thou peoples delighting in conflicts.Rebuke the wild animal of the reeds, The multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples. Being humbled, may it bring bars of silver. Scatter the nations that delight in war.But I am poor and sorrowful: thy salvation, O God, hath set me up.
Psalms 68:31Princes shall come out of Egypt; Cush shall soon stretch out her hands to God.Come do fat ones out of Egypt, Cush causeth her hands to run to God.Princes shall come out of Egypt. Ethiopia shall hurry to stretch out her hands to God.I will praise the name of God with a canticle: and I will magnify him with praise.
Psalms 68:32Sing to God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises to the Lord; Selah:Kingdoms of the earth, sing ye to God, Praise ye the Lord. Selah.Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth! Sing praises to the Lord! Selah.And it shall please God better than a young calf, that bringeth forth horns and hoofs.
Psalms 68:33To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.To him who is riding on the heavens of the heavens of old, Lo, He giveth with His voice a strong voice.To him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old; Behold, he utters his voice, a mighty voice.Let the poor see and rejoice: seek ye God, and your soul shall live.
Psalms 68:34Ascribe ye strength to God: his excellence is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.Ascribe ye strength to God, Over Israel [is] His excellency, and His strength in the clouds.Ascribe strength to God! His excellency is over Israel, His strength is in the skies.For the Lord hath heard the poor: and hath not despised his prisoners.
Psalms 68:35O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power to his people. Blessed be God.Fearful, O God, out of Thy sanctuaries, The God of Israel Himself, Giving strength and might to the people. Blessed [is] God!You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries.
