Psalms 80:1To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim Eduth, A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubim, shine forth.To the Overseer. `On the Lilies.` A testimony of Asaph. A Psalm. Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Leading Joseph as a flock, Inhabiting the cherubs shine forth,Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock, You who sit above the cherubim, shine forth.Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself.
Psalms 80:2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might, Come to save us.Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob.
Psalms 80:3Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.Turn us again, God. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved.Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp.
Psalms 80:4O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.Yahweh God of hosts, How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity.
Psalms 80:5Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time.You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in large measure.For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob.
Psalms 80:6Thou makest us a strife to our neighbors: and our enemies laugh among themselves.Thou makest us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies mock at it.You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.
Psalms 80:7Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.Turn us again, God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved.He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.
Psalms 80:8Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it.Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction.
Psalms 80:9Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land.Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me,
Psalms 80:10The hills were covered with the shade of it, and its boughs were like the goodly cedars.Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God's cedars.there shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god.
Psalms 80:11She sent out her boughs to the sea, and her branches to the river.It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings.It sent out its branches to the sea, Its shoots to the River.For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Psalms 80:12Why hast thou then broke down her hedges, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck her?Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?Why have you broken down its walls, So that all those who pass by the way pluck it?But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.
Psalms 80:13The boar from the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions.
Psalms 80:14Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,Turn again, we beg you, God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways:
Psalms 80:15And the vineyard which thy right hand planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,The stock which your right hand planted, The branch that you made strong for yourself.I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them.
Psalms 80:16It is burnt with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.Burnt with fire cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish.It is burned with fire. It is cut down. They perish at your rebuke.The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever.
Psalms 80:17Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself.Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, On the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock.
Psalms 80:18So will we not go back from thee: revive us, and we will call upon thy name.And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name.
Psalms 80:19Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.O Jehovah, God of Hosts, turn us back, Cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved!Turn us again, Yahweh God of hosts.
