1st-Corinthians 13:1If I can speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but am destitute of Love, I have but become a loud-sounding trumpet or a clanging cymbal.If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.If with the tongues of men and of messengers I speak, and have not love, I have become brass sounding, or a cymbal tinkling;
1st-Corinthians 13:2If I possess the gift of prophecy and am versed in all mysteries and all knowledge, and have such absolute faith that I can remove mountains, but am destitute of Love, I am nothing.And if I have [the gift of] prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.and if I have prophecy, and know all the secrets, and all the knowledge, and if I have all the faith, so as to remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing;
1st-Corinthians 13:3And if I distribute all my possessions to the poor, and give up my body to be burned, but am destitute of Love, it profits me nothing.And if I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.and if I give away to feed others all my goods, and if I give up my body that I may be burned, and have not love, I am profited nothing.
1st-Corinthians 13:4Love is patient and kind. Love knows neither envy nor jealousy. Love is not forward and self-assertive, nor boastful and conceited.Love suffereth long, [and] is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,The love is long-suffering, it is kind, the love doth not envy, the love doth not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,
1st-Corinthians 13:5She does not behave unbecomingly, nor seek to aggrandize herself, nor blaze out in passionate anger, nor brood over wrongs.doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;doth not act unseemly, doth not seek its own things, is not provoked, doth not impute evil,
1st-Corinthians 13:6She finds no pleasure in injustice done to others, but joyfully sides with the truth.rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;rejoiceth not over the unrighteousness, and rejoiceth with the truth;
1st-Corinthians 13:7She knows how to be silent. She is full of trust, full of hope, full of patient endurance.beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.all things it beareth, all it believeth, all it hopeth, all it endureth.
1st-Corinthians 13:8Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if there are languages, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be brought to an end.Love never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall be done away; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall be done away. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.The love doth never fail; and whether [there be] prophecies, they shall become useless; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall become useless;
1st-Corinthians 13:9For our knowledge is imperfect, and so is our prophesying;For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.for in part we know, and in part we prophecy;
1st-Corinthians 13:10but when the perfect state of things is come, all that is imperfect will be brought to an end.but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part shall become useless.
1st-Corinthians 13:11When I was a child, I talked like a child, felt like a child, reasoned like a child: when I became a man, I put from me childish ways.When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.When I was a babe, as a babe I was speaking, as a babe I was thinking, as a babe I was reasoning, and when I have become a man, I have made useless the things of the babe;
1st-Corinthians 13:12For the present we see things as if in a mirror, and are puzzled; but then we shall see them face to face. For the present the knowledge I gain is imperfect; but then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.for we see now through a mirror obscurely, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I shall fully know, as also I was known;
1st-Corinthians 13:13And so there remain Faith, Hope, Love these three; and of these the greatest is Love.But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.and now there doth remain faith, hope, love these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.
