1st-Corinthians 10:1For I would have you remember, brethren, how our forefathers were all of them sheltered by the cloud, and all got safely through the Red Sea.For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea.Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
1st-Corinthians 10:2All were baptized in the cloud and in the sea to be followers of Moses.and all were baptised unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;And all in Moses were baptized, in the cloud, and in the sea:And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1st-Corinthians 10:3All ate the same spiritual food,and all ate the same spiritual food,And did all eat the same spiritual food,And all ate the same spiritual food;
1st-Corinthians 10:4and all drank the same spiritual drink; for they long drank the water that flowed from the spiritual rock that went with them and that rock was the Christ.and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of a spiritual rock which followed [them]: (now the rock was the Christ;)And all drank the same spiritual drink; (and they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.)And all drank the same spiritual drink: (for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.)
1st-Corinthians 10:5But with most of them God was not well pleased; for they were laid low in the Desert.yet God was not pleased with the most of them, for they were strewed in the desert.But with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the desert.But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
1st-Corinthians 10:6And in this they became a warning to us, to teach us not to be eager, as they were eager, in pursuit of what is evil.But these things happened [as] types of us, that we should not be lusters after evil things, as they also lusted.Now these things were done in a figure of us, that we should not covet evil things as they also coveted.Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
1st-Corinthians 10:7And you must not be worshippers of idols, as some of them were. For it is written, "The People sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to dance."Neither be ye idolaters, as some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.Neither become ye idolaters, as some of them, as it is written: The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them: as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1st-Corinthians 10:8Nor may we be fornicators, like some of them who committed fornication and on a single day 23,000 of them fell dead.Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed fornication, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed fornication, and there fell in one day three and twenty thousand.Neither let us commit lewdness, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
1st-Corinthians 10:9And do not let us test the Lord too far, as some of them tested Him and were destroyed by the serpents.Neither let us tempt the Christ, as some of them tempted, and perished by serpents.Neither let us tempt Christ: as some of them tempted, and perished by the serpents.Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
1st-Corinthians 10:10And do not be discontented, as some of them were, and they were destroyed by the Destroyer.Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.Neither do you murmur: as some of them murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
1st-Corinthians 10:11All this kept happening to them with a figurative meaning; but it was put on record by way of admonition to us upon whom the ends of the Ages have come.Now all these things happened to them [as] types, and have been written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.Now all these things happened to them in figure: and they are written for our correction, upon whom the ends of the world are come.Now all these things happened to them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
1st-Corinthians 10:12So then let him who thinks he is standing securely beware of falling.So that let him that thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.Wherefore he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall.Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
1st-Corinthians 10:13No temptation has you in its power but such as is common to human nature; and God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. But, when the temptation comes, He will also provide the way of escape; so that you may be able to bear it.No temptation has taken you but such as is according to man's nature; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able [to bear], but will with the temptation make the issue also, so that [ye] should be able to bear [it].Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1st-Corinthians 10:14Therefore, my dear friends, avoid all connection with the worship of idols.Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.Wherefore, my dearly beloved, fly from the service of idols.Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
1st-Corinthians 10:15I speak as to men of sense: judge for yourselves of what I say.I speak as to intelligent [persons]: do *ye* judge what I say.I speak as to wise men: judge ye yourselves what I say.I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
1st-Corinthians 10:16The cup of blessing, which we bless, does it not mean a joint-participation in the blood of Christ? The loaf of bread which we break, does it not mean a joint-participation in the body of Christ?The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not [the] communion of the blood of the Christ? The bread which we break, is it not [the] communion of the body of the Christ?The chalice of benediction, which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ ? And the bread, which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord ?The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1st-Corinthians 10:17Since there is one loaf, we who are many are one body; we, all of us, share in that one loaf.Because we, [being] many, are one loaf, one body; for we all partake of that one loaf.For we, being many, are one bread, one body, all that partake of one bread.For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1st-Corinthians 10:18Look at the Israelites the nation and their ritual. Are not those who eat the sacrifices joint-partakers in the altar?See Israel according to flesh: are not they who eat the sacrifices in communion with the altar?Behold Israel according to the flesh: are not they, that eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar ?Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they who eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?
1st-Corinthians 10:19Do I mean that a thing sacrificed to an idol is what it claims to be, or that an idol is a real thing?What then do I say? that what is sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything?What then ? Do I say, that what is offered in sacrifice to idols, is any thing ? Or, that the idol is any thing ?What then do I say? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
1st-Corinthians 10:20No, but that which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, not to God; and I would not have you have fellowship with one another through the demons.But that what [the nations] sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God. Now I do not wish you to be in communion with demons.But the things which the heathens sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God. And I would not that you should be made partakers with devils.But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with demons.
1st-Corinthians 10:21You cannot drink the Lord's cup and the cup of demons: you cannot be joint-partakers both in the table of the Lord and in the table of demons.Ye cannot drink [the] Lord's cup, and [the] cup of demons: ye cannot partake of [the] Lord's table, and of [the] table of demons.You cannot drink the chalice of the Lord, and the chalice of devils: you cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of devils.Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons.
1st-Corinthians 10:22Or are we actually arousing the Lord to jealousy. Are we stronger than He is?Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy ? Are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient.Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
1st-Corinthians 10:23Everything is allowable, but not everything is profitable. Everything is allowable, but everything does not build others up.All things are lawful, but all are not profitable; all things are lawful, but all do not edify.All things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify.All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
1st-Corinthians 10:24Let no one be for ever seeking his own good, but let each seek that of his fellow man.Let no one seek his own [advantage], but that of the other.Let no man seek his own, but that which is another's.Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
1st-Corinthians 10:25Anything that is for sale in the meat market, eat, and ask no questions for conscience' sake;Everything sold in the shambles eat, making no inquiry for conscience sake.Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat; asking no question for conscience' sake.Whatever is sold in the provision market, that eat, asking no question for conscience' sake:
1st-Corinthians 10:26for the earth is the Lord's, and all that it contains.For the earth [is] the Lord's and its fulness.The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.For the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness.
1st-Corinthians 10:27If an unbeliever gives you an invitation and you are disposed to accept it, eat whatever is put before you, and ask no questions for conscience' sake.But if any one of the unbelievers invite you, and ye are minded to go, all that is set before you eat, making no inquiry for conscience sake.If any of them that believe not, invite you, and you will be willing to go; eat of any thing that is set before you, asking no question for conscience' sake.If any of them that believe not invites you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go; whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question on account of conscience.
1st-Corinthians 10:28But if any one tells you, "This food has been offered in sacrifice;" abstain from eating it out of respect for him who warned you, and, as before, for conscience' sake.But if any one say to you, This is offered to holy purposes, do not eat, for his sake that pointed it out, and conscience sake;But if any man say: This has been sacrificed to idols, do not eat of it for his sake that told it, and for conscience' sake.But if any man shall say to you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience' sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness:
1st-Corinthians 10:29But now I mean his conscience, not your own. "Why, on what ground," you may object, "is the question of my liberty of action to be decided by a conscience not my own?but conscience, I mean, not thine own, but that of the other: for why is my liberty judged by another conscience?Conscience, I say, not thy own, but the other's. For why is my liberty judged by another man's conscience ?Conscience, I say, not thy own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged by another man's conscience?
1st-Corinthians 10:30If, so far as I am concerned, I partake with a grateful heart, why am I to be found fault with in regard to a thing for which I give thanks?"If *I* partake with thanksgiving, why am I spoken evil of for what *I* give thanks for?If I partake with thanksgiving, why am I evil spoken of, for that for which I give thanks ?For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
1st-Corinthians 10:31Whether, then, you are eating or drinking, or whatever you are doing, let everything be done to the glory of God.Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all things to God's glory.Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatsoever else you do, do all to the glory of God.Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1st-Corinthians 10:32Do not be causes of stumbling either to Jews or to Gentiles, nor to the Church of God.Give no occasion to stumbling, whether to Jews, or Greeks, or the assembly of God.Be without offence to the Jews, and to the Gentiles, and to the church of God:Give no offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
1st-Corinthians 10:33That is the way that I also seek in everything the approval of all men, not aiming at my own profit, but at that of the many, in the hope that they may be saved.Even as *I* also please all in all things; not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.As I also in all things please all men, not seeking that which is profitable to myself, but to many, that may be saved.Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
