2nd-Corinthians 5:1For we know that if this poor tent, our earthly house, is taken down, we have in Heaven a building which God has provided, a house not built by human hands, but eternal. For we know that if our earthly tabernacle house be destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For we know, if our earthly house of this habitation be dissolved, that we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2nd-Corinthians 5:2For in this one we sigh, because we long to put on over it our dwelling which comes from HeavenFor indeed in this we groan, ardently desiring to have put on our house which [is] from heaven; For in this also we groan, desiring to be clothed upon with our habitation that is from heaven. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from heaven:
2nd-Corinthians 5:3if indeed having really put on a robe we shall not be found to be unclothed.if indeed being also clothed we shall not be found naked.Yet so that we be found clothed, not naked. If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
2nd-Corinthians 5:4Yes, we who are in this tent certainly do sigh under our burdens, for we do not wish to lay aside that with which we are now clothed, but to put on more, so that our mortality may be absorbed in Life. For indeed we who are in the tabernacle groan, being burdened; while yet we do not wish to be unclothed, but clothed, that [what is] mortal may be swallowed up by life. For we also, who are in this tabernacle, do groan, being burthened; because we would not be unclothed, but clothed upon, that that which is mortal may be swallowed up by life. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not because we would be unclothed, but clothed, that mortality might be swallowed up in life.
2nd-Corinthians 5:5And He who formed us with this very end in view is God, who has given us His Spirit as a pledge and foretaste of that bliss. Now he that has wrought us for this very thing [is] God, who also has given to us the earnest of the Spirit. Now he that maketh us for this very thing, is God, who hath given us the pledge of the Spirit. Now he that hath wrought us for this same thing is God, who also hath given to us the earnest of the Spirit.
2nd-Corinthians 5:6We have therefore a cheerful confidence. We know that while we are at home in the body we are banished from the Lord; Therefore [we are] always confident, and know that while present in the body we are absent from the Lord,Therefore having always confidence, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are absent from the Lord. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2nd-Corinthians 5:7for we are living a life of faith, and not one of sight.(for we walk by faith, not by sight;)(For we walk by faith, and not by sight.)(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2nd-Corinthians 5:8So we have a cheerful confidence, and we anticipate with greater delight being banished from the body and going home to the Lord.we are confident, I say, and pleased rather to be absent from the body and present with the Lord. But we are confident, and have a good will to be absent rather from the body, and to be present with the Lord.We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
2nd-Corinthians 5:9And for this reason also we make it our ambition, whether at home or in exile, to please Him perfectly.Wherefore also we are zealous, whether present or absent, to be agreeable to him.And therefore we labour, whether absent or present, to please him.Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted by him.
2nd-Corinthians 5:10For we must all of us appear before Christ's judgement-seat in our true characters, in order that each may then receive an award for his actions in this life, in accordance with what he has done, whether it be good or whether it be worthless. For we must all be manifested before the judgment-seat of the Christ, that each may receive the things [done] in the body, according to those he has done, whether [it be] good or evil. For we must all be manifested before the judgement seat of Christ, that every one may receive the proper things of the body, according as he hath done, whether it be good or evil. For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether good or bad.
2nd-Corinthians 5:11Therefore, because we realize how greatly the Lord is to be feared, we are endeavouring to win men over, and God recognizes what our motives are, and I hope that you, in your hearts, recognize them too.Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord we persuade men, but have been manifested to God, and I hope also that we have been manifested in your consciences.Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we use persuasion to men; but to God we are manifest. And I trust also that in your consciences we are manifest.Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest to God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
2nd-Corinthians 5:12We are not again commending ourselves to your favour, but are furnishing you with a ground of boasting on our behalf, so that you may have a reply ready for those with whom superficial appearances are everything and sincerity of heart counts for nothing.[For] we do not again commend ourselves to you, but [we are] giving to you occasion of boast in our behalf, that ye may have [such] with those boasting in countenance, and not in heart. We commend not ourselves again to you, but give you occasion to glory in our behalf; that you may have somewhat to answer them who glory in face, and not in heart. For we commend not ourselves again to you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them who glory in appearance, and not in heart.
2nd-Corinthians 5:13For if we have been beside ourselves, it has been for God's glory; or if we are now in our right senses, it is in order to be of service to you.For whether we are beside ourselves, [it is] to God; or are sober, [it is] for you.For whether we be transported in mind, it is to God; or whether we be sober, it is for you.For whether we are beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we are sober, it is for your cause.
2nd-Corinthians 5:14For the love of Christ overmasters us, the conclusion at which we have arrived being this that One having died for all, His death was their death,For the love of the Christ constrains us, having judged this: that one died for all, then all have died; For the charity of Christ presseth us: judging this, that if one died for all, then all were dead. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
2nd-Corinthians 5:15and that He died for all in order that the living may no longer live to themselves, but to Him who died for them and rose again.and he died for all, that they who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who died for them and has been raised. And Christ died for all; that they also who live, may not now live to themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again. And that he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live to themselves, but to him who died for them, and rose again.
2nd-Corinthians 5:16Therefore for the future we know no one simply as a man. Even if we have known Christ as a man, yet now we do so no longer. So that *we* henceforth know no one according to flesh; but if even we have known Christ according to flesh, yet now we know [him thus] no longer.Wherefore henceforth, we know no man according to the flesh. And if we have known Christ according to the flesh; but now we know him so no longer.Wherefore henceforth we know no man according to the flesh: though indeed we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now henceforth we know him no more.
2nd-Corinthians 5:17So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old state of things has passed away; a new state of things has come into existence. So if any one [be] in Christ, [there is] a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold all things have become new:If then any be in Christ a new creature, the old things are passed away, behold all things are made new. Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2nd-Corinthians 5:18And all this is from God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and has appointed us to serve in the ministry of reconciliation.and all things [are] of the God who has reconciled us to himself by [Jesus] Christ, and given to us the ministry of that reconciliation:But all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Christ; and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.And all things are from God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2nd-Corinthians 5:19We are to tell how God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not charging men's transgressions to their account, and that He has entrusted to us the Message of this reconciliation.how that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their offences; and putting in us the word of that reconciliation. For God indeed was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing to them their sins; and he hath placed in us the word of reconciliation. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation.
2nd-Corinthians 5:20On Christ's behalf therefore we come as ambassadors, God, as it were, making entreaty through our lips: we, on Christ's behalf, beseech men to be reconciled to God.We are ambassadors therefore for Christ, God as [it were] beseeching by us, we entreat for Christ, Be reconciled to God.For Christ therefore we are ambassadors, God as it were exhorting by us. For Christ, we beseech you, be reconciled to God.Now then we are embassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2nd-Corinthians 5:21He has made Him who knew nothing of sin to be sin for us, in order that in Him we may become the righteousness of God.Him who knew not sin he has made sin for us, that *we* might become God's righteousness in him.Him, who knew no sin, he hath made sin for us, that we might be made the justice of God in him.For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
