Psalms 37:1Don't fret because of evil-doers, Neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness. <Of David.> Do not be angry because of the wrongdoers, or have envy of the workers of evil.
Psalms 37:2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither like the green herb.For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. For they will quickly be cut down like grass, and become dry like the green plants.
Psalms 37:3Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.Trust in Jehovah, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on [his] faithfulness. Have faith in the Lord, and do good; be at rest in the land, and go after righteousness.
Psalms 37:4Also delight yourself in Yahweh, And he will give you the desires of your heart.Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart. So will your delight be in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires.
Psalms 37:5Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass. Put your life in the hands of the Lord; have faith in him and he will do it.
Psalms 37:6He will make your righteousness go forth as the light, And your justice as the noon day sun.And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noon-day. And he will make your righteousness be seen like the light, and your cause like the shining of the sun.
Psalms 37:7Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don't fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Take your rest in the Lord, waiting quietly for him; do not be angry because of the man who does well in his evil ways, and gives effect to his bad designs.
Psalms 37:8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing.Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself, [it tendeth] only to evil-doing. Put an end to your wrath and be no longer bitter; do not give way to angry feeling which is a cause of sin.
Psalms 37:9For evildoers shall be cut off, But those who wait for Yahweh, they shall inherit the land.For evil-doers shall be cut off; But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land. For the evil-doers will be cut off: but those who have faith in the Lord will have the earth for their heritage.
Psalms 37:10For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be. For in a short time the evil-doer will be gone: you will go searching for his place, and it will not be there.
Psalms 37:11But the humble shall inherit the land, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.But the meek shall inherit the land, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. But the gentle will have the earth for their heritage; they will take their delight in peace without measure.
Psalms 37:12The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.The wicked plotteth against the just, And gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The sinner has evil designs against the upright, lifting up the voice of wrath against him.
Psalms 37:13The Lord will laugh at him, For he sees that his day is coming.The Lord will laugh at him; For he seeth that his day is coming. He will be laughed at by the Lord, who sees that his day is coming.
Psalms 37:14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To kill those who are upright in the way.The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay such as are upright in the way. The evil-doers have taken out their swords, their bows are bent; for crushing the poor, and to put to death those who are upright in their ways.
Psalms 37:15Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.Their sword shall enter into their own heart, And their bows shall be broken. But their swords will be turned into their hearts, and their bows will be broken.
Psalms 37:16Better is a little that the righteous has, Than the abundance of many wicked.Better is a little that the righteous hath Than the abundance of many wicked. The little which the good man has is better than the wealth of evil-doers.
Psalms 37:17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But Yahweh upholds the righteous.For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous. For the arms of the evil-doers will be broken: but the Lord is the support of the good.
Psalms 37:18Yahweh knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; And their inheritance shall be for ever. The days of the upright are numbered by the Lord, and their heritage will be for ever.
Psalms 37:19They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. They will not be shamed in the evil time, and in the days when all are in need of food they will have enough.
Psalms 37:20But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish Vanish like smoke.But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; In smoke shall they consume away. But the wrongdoers will come to destruction, and the haters of the Lord will be like the fat of lambs, they will be burned up; they will go up in smoke, and never again be seen.
Psalms 37:21The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, But the righteous give generously.The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth. The sinner takes money and does not give it back; but the upright man has mercy, and gives to others.
Psalms 37:22For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land; And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off. Those who have his blessing will have the earth for their heritage; but those who are cursed by him will be cut off.
Psalms 37:23A man's goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.A man's goings are established of Jehovah; And he delighteth in his way. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he takes delight in his way.
Psalms 37:24Though he stumble, he shall not fall, For Yahweh holds him up with his hand.Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For Jehovah upholdeth him with his hand. Even if he has a fall he will not be without help: for the hand of the Lord is supporting him.
Psalms 37:25I have been young, and now am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his children begging for bread.I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread. I have been young, and now am old, but I have not seen the good man without help, or his children looking for bread.
Psalms 37:26All the day long he deals graciously, and lends. His seed is blessed.All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed. All the day he is ready to have mercy and to give; his children are a blessing.
Psalms 37:27Depart from evil, and do good; Live securely forever.Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore. Be turned from evil, and do good; and your place will be for ever.
Psalms 37:28For Yahweh loves justice, And doesn't forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, But the children of the wicked shall be cut off.For Jehovah loveth justice, And forsaketh not his saints; They are preserved for ever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. For the Lord is a lover of righteousness, and takes care of his saints; they will be kept safe for ever; but the seed of the evil-doers will be cut off.
Psalms 37:29The righteous shall inherit the land, And live in it forever.The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell therein for ever. The upright will have the earth for their heritage, and will go on living there for ever.
Psalms 37:30The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom, And his tongue speaketh justice. The mouth of the good man says words of wisdom; the talk of his tongue is of righteousness.
Psalms 37:31The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide. The law of his God is in his heart; he will never make a false step.
Psalms 37:32The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to kill him.The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him. The sinners are watching the upright man, desiring to put him to death.
Psalms 37:33Yahweh will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged. The Lord will not give him into their hands, or be against him when he is judged.
Psalms 37:34Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, And he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, And he will exalt thee to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. Be waiting for the Lord, and keep his way; and you will be lifted up, and have the land for your heritage: when the evil-doers are cut off, you will see it.
Psalms 37:35I have seen the wicked in great power, Spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. I have seen the evil-doer in great power, covering the earth like a great tree.
Psalms 37:36But he passed away, and, behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.But one passed by, and, lo, he was not: Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. But he came to an end, and there was no sign of him; I made a search for him and he was not there.
Psalms 37:37Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, For there is a future for the man of peace.Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; For there is a [happy] end to the man of peace. Give attention to the good man, and take note of the upright; because the end of that man is peace.
Psalms 37:38As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together; The end of the wicked shall be cut off. But as for the sinners, they will be cut off together; the end of the wrongdoers is destruction.
Psalms 37:39But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. But the Lord is the saviour of the upright: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
Psalms 37:40Yahweh helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him. Psalm 38 A Psalm by David, for a memorial.And Jehovah helpeth them, and rescueth them; He rescueth them from the wicked, and saveth them, Because they have taken refuge in him. Psalm 38 A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. And the Lord will be their help, and keep them safe: he will take them out of the hands of the evil-doers, and be their saviour, because they had faith in him.
