Proverbs 12:1Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.Whoso loveth correction loveth knowledge; But he that hateth reproof is brutish. A lover of training is a lover of knowledge; but a hater of teaching is like a beast.Whoso is loving instruction, is loving knowledge, And whoso is hating reproof [is] brutish.
Proverbs 12:2A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, But he will condemn a man of wicked devices.A good man shall obtain favor of Jehovah; But a man of wicked devices will he condemn. A good man has grace in the eyes of the Lord; but the man of evil designs gets punishment from him.The good bringeth forth favour from Jehovah, And the man of wicked devices He condemneth.
Proverbs 12:3A man shall not be established by wickedness, But the root of the righteous shall not be moved.A man shall not be established by wickedness; But the root of the righteous shall not be moved. No man will make himself safe through evil-doing; but the root of upright men will never be moved.A man is not established by wickedness, And the root of the righteous is not moved.
Proverbs 12:4A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, But a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.A worthy woman is the crown of her husband; But she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. A woman of virtue is a crown to her husband; but she whose behaviour is a cause of shame is like a wasting disease in his bones.A virtuous woman [is] a crown to her husband, And as rottenness in his bones [is] one causing shame.
Proverbs 12:5The thoughts of the righteous are just. The advice of the wicked is deceitful. The thoughts of the righteous are just; [But] the counsels of the wicked are deceit. The purposes of upright men are right, but the designs of evil-doers are deceit. The thoughts of the righteous [are] justice, The counsels of the wicked deceit.
Proverbs 12:6The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood, But the speech of the upright rescues them. The words of the wicked are of lying in wait for blood; But the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. The words of sinners are destruction for the upright; but the mouth of upright men is their salvation. The words of the wicked [are]: `Lay wait for blood,` And the mouth of the upright delivereth them.
Proverbs 12:7The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, But the house of the righteous shall stand. The wicked are overthrown, and are not; But the house of the righteous shall stand. Evil-doers are overturned and never seen again, but the house of upright men will keep its place.Overthrow the wicked, and they are not, And the house of the righteous standeth.
Proverbs 12:8A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, But he who has a warped mind shall be despised.A man shall be commended according to his wisdom; But he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. A man will be praised in the measure of his wisdom, but a wrong-minded man will be looked down on.According to his wisdom is a man praised, And the perverted of heart becometh despised.
Proverbs 12:9Better is he who is lightly esteemed, and has a servant, Than he who honors himself, and lacks bread.Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, Than he that honoreth himself, and lacketh bread. He who is of low position and has a servant, is better than one who has a high opinion of himself and is in need of bread.Better [is] the lightly esteemed who hath a servant, Than the self-honoured who lacketh bread.
Proverbs 12:10A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast; But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evil-doers are cruel. The righteous knoweth the life of his beast, And the mercies of the wicked [are] cruel.
Proverbs 12:11He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, But he who chases fantasies is void of understanding. He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread; But he that followeth after vain [persons] is void of understanding. He who does work on his land will not be short of bread; but he who goes after foolish men is without sense.Whoso is tilling the ground is satisfied [with] bread, And whoso is pursuing vanities is lacking heart,
Proverbs 12:12The wicked desires the plunder of evil men, But the root of the righteous flourishes. The wicked desireth the net of evil men; But the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit]. The resting-place of the sinner will come to destruction, but the root of upright men is for ever. The wicked hath desired the net of evil doers, And the root of the righteous giveth.
Proverbs 12:13An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips, But the righteous shall come out of trouble. In the transgression of the lips is a snare to the evil man; But the righteous shall come out of trouble. In the sin of the lips is a net which takes the sinner, but the upright man will come out of trouble. In transgression of the lips [is] the snare of the wicked, And the righteous goeth out from distress.
Proverbs 12:14A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The doings of a man's hands shall be rewarded to him.A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; And the doings of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him. From the fruit of his mouth will a man have good food in full measure, and the work of a man's hands will be rewarded. From the fruit of the mouth [is] one satisfied [with] good, And the deed of man`s hands returneth to him.
Proverbs 12:15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who is wise listens to counsel. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; But he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel. The way of the foolish man seems right to him? but the wise man gives ear to suggestions. The way of a fool [is] right in his own eyes, And whoso is hearkening to counsel [is] wise.
Proverbs 12:16A fool shows his annoyance the same day, But one who overlooks an insult is prudent.A fool's vexation is presently known; But a prudent man concealeth shame. A foolish man lets his trouble be openly seen, but a sharp man keeps shame secret. The fool in a day is his anger known, And the prudent is covering shame.
Proverbs 12:17He who is truthful testifies honestly, But a false witness lies.He that uttereth truth showeth forth righteousness; But a false witness, deceit. The breathing out of true words gives knowledge of righteousness; but a false witness gives out deceit.Whoso uttereth faithfulness declareth righteousness, And a false witness deceit.
Proverbs 12:18There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, But the tongue of the wise heals. There is that speaketh rashly like the piercings of a sword; But the tongue of the wise is health. There are some whose uncontrolled talk is like the wounds of a sword, but the tongue of the wise makes one well again.A rash speaker is like piercings of a sword, And the tongue of the wise is healing.
Proverbs 12:19Truth's lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only momentary. The lip of truth shall be established for ever; But a lying tongue is but for a moment. True lips are certain for ever, but a false tongue is only for a minute. The lip of truth is established for ever, And for a moment a tongue of falsehood.
Proverbs 12:20Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, But joy comes to the promoters of peace.Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; But to the counsellors of peace is joy. Deceit is in the heart of those whose designs are evil, but for those purposing peace there is joy.Deceit [is] in the heart of those devising evil, And to those counselling peace [is] joy.
Proverbs 12:21No mischief shall happen to the righteous, But the wicked shall be filled with evil. There shall no mischief happen to the righteous; But the wicked shall be filled with evil. No trouble will come to upright men, but sinners will be full of evil.No iniquity is desired by the righteous, And the wicked have been full of evil.
Proverbs 12:22Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, But those who do the truth are his delight.Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; But they that deal truly are his delight. False lips are hated by the Lord, but those whose acts are true are his delight. An abomination to Jehovah [are] lying lips, And stedfast doers [are] his delight.
Proverbs 12:23A prudent man keeps his knowledge, But the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.A prudent man concealeth knowledge; But the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. A sharp man keeps back his knowledge; but the heart of foolish men makes clear their foolish thoughts.A prudent man is concealing knowledge, And the heart of fools proclaimeth folly.
Proverbs 12:24The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, But laziness ends in slave labor. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; But the slothful shall be put under taskwork. The hand of the ready worker will have authority, but he who is slow in his work will be put to forced work. The hand of the diligent ruleth, And slothfulness becometh tributary.
Proverbs 12:25Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, But a kind word makes it glad.Heaviness in the heart of a man maketh it stoop; But a good word maketh it glad. Care in the heart of a man makes it weighted down, but a good word makes it glad.Sorrow in the heart of a man boweth down, And a good word maketh him glad.
Proverbs 12:26The righteous is cautious in friendship, But the way of the wicked leads them astray. The righteous is a guide to his neighbor; But the way of the wicked causeth them to err. The upright man is a guide to his neighbour, but the way of evil-doers is a cause of error to them. The righteous searcheth his companion, And the way of the wicked causeth them to err.
Proverbs 12:27The slothful man doesn't roast his game, But the possessions of diligent men are prized. The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting; But the precious substance of men [is to] the diligent. He who is slow in his work does not go in search of food; but the ready worker gets much wealth. The slothful roasteth not his hunting, And the wealth of a diligent man is precious.
Proverbs 12:28In the way of righteousness is life; In its path there is no death. In the way of righteousness is life; And in the pathway thereof there is no death. In the road of righteousness is life, but the way of the evil-doer goes to death. In the path of righteousness [is] life, And in the way of [that] path [is] no death!
